Liked: very clean and helpful, friendly staff. nice backyard with relaxing pool. we already booked another 2 nights for the day before our flight back.

Liked: Good location, near to airport from which Mbizi will arrange a shuttle, also 10 mins walk from the supermarket. On BazBus trail. Feels more like a homestay than a hostel. Very clean. Patrick, the owner, is a great guy, very patient and helpful with so many queries! Nice bar by the pool. Very relaxing atmosphere.

Liked: Patrick is a great host and has all of the amenities you're looking for. Great information on things to do. Clean and good value for money.

Disliked: Is a bit far from Johannesburg - you definitely need a car to get around.

Liked: I cannot fault this lodge at all. I stayed with my 4 year old son and was really impressed. Patrick was really friendly and couldn't do enough to help. My son thought he was great and he also loved staying here. The fact that it is not signposted from the outside made it feel even safer, you really do feel like you're at home. The rooms are basic but clean. I will definately be returning in the future and highly recommend Mbizi to others. Thank you.

Liked: This is what I wanted from my one night stay in Joburg: close to the airport, airport pick-up and a reasonable price. This is what I got from Mbizi Lodge: all of the above including: *the cleanest hostel I've ever come across*a space that felt safe and like a home away from home*a space fully run by the owne - he's a local, he knows his stuff*no over-crowding * a spacious, well stocked bar at the back of the house (away from the main house which means those who want to get some shut-eye can do so without being desturbed by the odd bar-fly *a really lekker bad! All this good stuff meant that I returned to Mbizi for a further couple if nights. Tzhanks, Patric!

Disliked: Its easy to find, spacious, clean, well stocked, homely with lots of space for relaxing.

Liked: We had a great stay from the airport pickup to the drop-off and everywhere in between. Patrick is a real character and goes out of his way to make all of his guests feel welcome and entertained. He also arranged a day trip for us to the Apartheid Museum and through Joburg downtown complete with lively commentary and many memorable tales! We wouldn't think of going anywhere else next time we are in town.

Disliked: No sign out front indicating that we were at the right place threw us a bit but there is a good reason for it.

Liked: Mbizi has a very homely feel and Patrick clearly makes his home yours. A warm welcome and tour of hostel and I immediately felt comfortable.

Disliked: The location is very much out of town, though there are restaurants just a short walk away as is the supermarket, but there is nowhere to browse. That said, if you have flown into j'burg and are looking to move either up or down the country and need a good base, then this is the place.

Liked: we stayed here at the start of our trip in south africa and then the end and both times we felt welcomed and at ease. The place has a very homley and warm feeling, perfect after our long flight and then tour of SA.

Liked: The hostel was ok. It has swimming pool and a bar where you can have a drink and see futbol matches. Rooms were clean and comfortable. There was just one toilet and shower for all guests but they were doing some more.

Disliked: It is far from the city. If you are 4 people the taxi is cheaper than the pick up offered by the hostel. There is no ring, so you have to phone when you arrive yourselve.
