Overview
Phoenix Backpackers is one of the oldest remaining houses in Jeffrey's Bay. It was built in the 1870's by George Pell and used to be known as the Phoenix Hotel, it has since undergone extensive renovations and is a budget minded establishment where a large treed garden welcomes you to your temporary haven.
The high ceilings and very spacious dorms have large bunk beds on wooden floors, are fitted with clean linen which is regularly changed for guests that spend more than a few nights
A backpackers with history. 2 minute walk to the main blue flag beach, restaurants, coffee-shops, surf- shops & night-life (casino). Fully equipped communal kitchen (stove, microwave) and lounge with big flat screen TV and a separate pool table room, private courtyard, indigenous gardens, with tree swing and chill areas, safe parking for five cars on the premises. Non smoking in the house

Sand boarding is also a big attraction for sport lovers.
Hiking, walking on of the nature trails, go fishing or gather oysters on the shore.
The town has all the shops and facilities needed for a perfect holiday home
Jeffreys Bay has all of the following: supermarkets, a mall, doctors, policlinic, pharmacies, dentists, restaurants, coffee shops, pubs, a hotel, B&B’s, movie theatre and a school.
Special events in town are the Billabong Pro WCT Surfing contest in July attracting the world's top surfers to take on Supertubes and compete for the World Champion.
In September Jeffreys Bay plays host to the Shell Festival, with live music and large market areas for the family to enjoy.
