We are the closest spot (1km) to the Hluhluwe/Imfolozi National Park! For the best 4x4 open vehicle game drives since 1969, visit Hluhluwe Backpackers!! We call the Big 5 our neighbours and enjoy a stunning 360 degree view onto the surrounding hills of Zululand and the mountains of the National Park!!

We offer a very warm and homely atmosphere in a unique and peaceful environment. Our main house has 3 comfortable double, 2 twin rooms and 2 x 4-bed dorms with shared bathroom facilities. The kitchen is very well equipped with all cutlery, crockery, utensils, gas stoves, a fridge and freezer and a microwave. If you are not in the mood for cooking, we can spoil you with one of our tasty meals! The lounge/dining and reception areas, the Park Pub (with cold beers and a variety of drinks) large garden area with a big boma/braai (bbq) and outside eating areas, offer you ample space to relax!

Also on offer is a chalet, 3 stationery parked caravans and camping space - all under the shade of Marula and other indigenous trees!

Please Note: We have 12 camping sites available. Light and plug points are provided. Our excellent ablution facilities are close-by and our Boma/Braai area is there for your use. We charge R70.00 p/p per night for the site.

We recommend you to join us on one of our open-vehicle game drives into the National Park, conducted by a professional Field Guide. On offer is a 3 hour drive @ R420.00 p/p, a 6 hour drive @ R720.00 p/p and a full day drive @ R1050.00 p/p. Extras include fire shows, Zulu dancing, star gazing, bird watching, trips to St Lucia and surrounding areas including rural Zulu Villages, etc.

The quality is crystal clear and the taste is luxeriously thirst-quenching! Especially in these warm conditions after game drives. Dave's water is so popular, it is being sold in Hluhluwe Town and the Memorial Gate of the National Park.

Location Information

We are close to a place called 'Hluhluwe' - which means 'Thorny Monkey Rope'. We are situated in the ever-green hills of rural Zululand, surrounded by only a few Zulu Huts and with the mountains of the Imfolozi ('River of Fibres') in the distance. It is a very tranquil, unique and peaceful environment. Although it sounds very remote, there are many places close-by and plenty of things to do! All kinds of trips and excursions can be arranged!
