Liked: The owner was fantastic, the location and views were great, and the rooms were nice. Lot's of activities on offer as well.

Disliked: 1 woman working at the front desk was pretty confused, wasn't aware of what activities were available, couldn't direct us properly to a restaurant, etc. However, everyone else was great.

Liked: Blue sky had a nice large kitchen with pots, silverware and china. They also have a compost for food waste making it seem eco-friendly.

Disliked: There was one female (employee or owner?) at the hostel who was really unhelpful with providing details about the safari we booked through them. She gave us attitude about how the safari includes 3 meals and to bring layers because it's cold early in the morning. We didn't know what type of accomodations we would have or the itinerary.

Liked: Close proximity to beach and its layout

Disliked: Nothing, I was caught out with the fact that the Durban airport is now located on the otherside of Durban rather than 15 minutes away as it was previously. Would recommend a hostel arranged transfer or cab service as it cost us over ZAR800. (this was during the WC as well when prices were inflated.)

Liked: The rates are cheap but you get nothing more than a bed and a shower as the staff was particularly unhelpful when it comes to transports to go to Durban centre. Don't even think that you'll be able to visit Durban or go anywhere for the night if you don't have a car and the taxi to town centre is about 220 R as the hostel is at 30 min drive from Durban centre... (which is equal to a night for two people at the hostel!)

Liked: Good hostel but not stunning. We were there for Christmas and there were families staying, which gives an indication that it was a nice place to stay and a close walk to the beach, but can't accurately judge on atmosphere. Nice staff, and a good pool in the back garden.

Liked: Good location for the sea, rooms were a bit cold as weather was bad. Good food available to buy from kitchen, but make sure you check the closing times as you could be caught short if you come back late and hungry! If that's the case, check out Zanzibar restaurant down the road, very good food!

Liked: The friendlyness, the, cleanliness, art and relaxed but enjoyable atmosphere and it was also very beautiful. It also has great views and is in prime location. The swimming pools are fab for relaxing and soaking up the sun. The rooms were spacious and comfy, a tv area you chill in or share, great food, It also has fre use of surf boards, pool table and garden area. We loved it and we loved the people that ran it...definately go again!

Liked: Short walk to Warner Beach, which is a clean and not too crowded beach. They also offer a menu for meals, or a nice kitchen facility for your cooking needs.
