Liked: Modern facilities and helpful staff for planning further South Africa travels. Good, quiet location walking distance to lots of restaurants, grocery stores, laundromats, internet cafes. Takes about 45min to walk to V&A Waterfront.

Disliked: Communal kitchen is a bit small and gets very crowded around breakfast-time. Our private room, Evita, was upstairs and would get quite hot during the day but at least there was a small floor fan to help ventilate. Internet did not work more than half the time and is not free.

Liked: A very stylish hostel where you get either plenty of opportunities to meet people or can have a quite time and relaxe. It depends on what you like and where your room is. The hostel looks awesome. Hardwood floors, plastering and mosaic everywhere. The kitchen is very well equiped, the furniture throughout the hostel is awesome and staff is very friendly and helpful. They let us sleep for two even though we had problems with our credit card and couldn't pay in advance. A highlight was the view of the table mountain from our room. Thanks for the pleasant time.

Liked: Extremely friendly staff. Feels very safe. Really like that they have an ATM inside the Hostel - very secure. Nice restaurant with good value meals.

Disliked: Hard to find anything to dislike but the Shower could have had a bit more pressure.

Liked: Probably the nicest backpackers I've ever stayed at! It's an old converted villa, with lovely rooms and great facilities. Location is PERFECT - near Long Street but not on Long Street so you can party and then sleep well at night. Super super clean - they must have the best cleaners ever as it was spotless, bed linen changed daily. Awesome staff and great food at restaurant too - they even put on free breakfast for two days when we were there as a surprise! Probably not the cheapest but definitely awesome for the price.

Liked: The rules given upon checkin are disgraceful - the hostel takes no responsibility for any loss or damage to property or any injury even if directly caused by the staff! Clause 1.1 and 1.2 are in no way there for anybodies protection other than the hostel's.Given the price we expected a whole lot more and had to change rooms as the first room was just not acceptable.There are other hostels in the direct area that are better value for money.

Liked: This was such a great place to stay during our week in Cape Town. It is a sprawling place that feels a like a home, complete with living room, kitchen and several seating areas including the bar. The front desk staff were very helpful, and the cleaning staff/guards always very friendly. The rooms were very clean (we were staying in one of the 8-bed dorms). My only small complaints would be (1) for those of us not in an en-suite, the bathrooms/showers are very spread out - why not just a 'station' or two of toilets/showers, rather than random closets? and (2) some of the charges were very high, internet/laundry/forex exchange rates/safes come to mind. It would be nice if extras were cheaper - then again, I realize you need to make your money as a business! The set up in the kitchen (fridges, labelling, etc) was the best of any hostel I've stayed in.
