Overview

Michael and Barbara offer high quality, comfortable and affordable accommodation at Ashcroft Lake House on the unique lakes of Marina da Gama.

With magnificent views of the lake and surrounding mountains, our Lake House is a great for hikers, a paradise for sail boats, canoeists and windsurfers. No outboard motors allowed on the lake, so peace and tranquility prevail.

Ashcrofts is ideally situated 2 minutes from the warm waters of the Indian Ocean Muizenberg's long white sandy beaches has Blue Flag Status. Famous surfers corner where you can get lessons. Great for Kite Surfing,Body Boardin splashing in the waves. Ashcrofts is close for all major tourist attractions we are close to Newlands Rugby/Cricket grounds, Kenilworth Horse Races, Royal Cape, Westlake, Clovelly, Steenberg Golf Courses. Constantia Wine Route is a 5 minute drive.

Ashcrofts is ideally situated: the Indian ocean is a 2 minute drive away, with the pristine white sands of Muizenberg beach. Ashcrofts is conveniently located to Constantia, the birthplace of South Africa's wine industry.

Muizenberg, on the False Bay Coast, is the closest village to Marina da Gama and boasts Cecil John Rhodes, Het Posthuise and Labia Museums.

Muizenberg also has a great choice of restaurants and coffee shops where you will find the local people eating out anytime of the day. Knead & Empire are great for a feast after surfing, they are open for breakfast, lunch & dinner. They are casual and social, the food is great and we can personally recommend them.

St James is next stop along the False Bay coast, safe swimming in a tidal pool great place for the kids. Octopus restaurant is open all day.

Kalk Bay is the Cape's best secret although word is getting out about great restaurants & chefs. Different shopping experience with a mish mash of just about everything will have you browsing for days.
