Liked: This is a good cheaper option in Cape Town. The hotel is old but still reasonably liveable. The bar has a good atmosphere and good cheap food options. Very good value for money.

Disliked: Overall the location is not the best and we moved closer to Long Street after two nights. Also the rooms are a little smoky even though they are non-smoking (presumably from years gone by).

Liked: It was not too expensive and we had a view on the Tablemountain.

Disliked: It was a bit shabby and on one night there was a big party on the first flour (we were on the second) with so loud music no earplug could handle it.

Liked: It is a great old pub. The bar is an excellent place to meet some of the local characters. We actually made some good friends there. The meals are tasty and really cheap. The beer is cold, plentiful and reasonably priced too.

Disliked: The toilet in our room was right where the bedside table would go. A bit weird. The function room on the second floor was a bit noisy, especially on karaoke Monday. No air con or fan in the room, and a noisy street below when you open the window for some air. It's still good value for money though.

Liked: it was the best ever, really. All the people was so nice and the room are beautiful the best ever. we was so happy that we lernd this people. thank you dean for the great time in the kimberley

Liked: Personnel is nice and overall atmosphere is relaxing. Shower and toilet facilities might need some upgrading, because some times there are some minor problems with those. Locals say that Kimberley Hotel is the oldest hotel in Cape Town area. If you value old architecture you might like this place. Location of the hotel is excellent. Most of the museums are located near and shops and markets are also quite near. If you don't need luxury and are more adventurous Kimberley is your place to stay. We enjoyed our 2 weeks stay at this place.
