The Kimberley Hotel Backpackers, on the corner of Roeland and Buitenkant Street, has been restored. This Cape Town landmark was built in 1895, and was the starting point for horse-drawn carriages leaving Cape Town for the mining town of Kimberley

The hotel boasts a conference centre for up to 60 delegates, a coffee shop with internet access, as well as the famous old bar with original woodwork.

From the hotel, guests can quench their thirst admiring Table Mountain, or take a two-minute walk to the District Six Museum. Being on the edge of the city, it is only a five minute walk to Parliament and the Cape Castle, and very close to the famous Cableway. The hotel offers 11 decorated rooms.
