Liked: Nothing

Disliked: We had booked a double room two weeks in advance to our stay and the booking was confirmed and the reservation done. When we arrived, the hostel manager would tell us that the booking from hostelbookers .com never come through and that we can be lucky that he is such a good guy and will give us a 7-people drom room with bunk beds all to ourselves with no one else in there. The room was terrible, the hostel dirty and unpleasant and the service not good.

Liked: Very close to Waterfront and Stadium and not so far from Johannesburg downtown. Great hostel. Vusi is very friendly and is always there to help guests.

Disliked: A bit off a mixup with the booking for the 1st night, but I was upgraded for the following three nights, Thanks to all the staff for there help.

Liked: i liked how close it was to the waterfront area but also how it was a bit more private and there was a nice coffee shoppe and grocery nearby. I appreciated the help given but not as friendly as could have been. Good bed and bonus room with tv and small fridge.

Disliked: the property description was misleading. our room was right near the front door, the breakfast/internet/reception area. the people upstairs made a lot of noise at 4.30am- not coming back from a party or anything, it sounded like a fight and lots of thuds and raised voices.

Liked: leaving.

Disliked: when we arrived our room wasn't properly cleaned. there were still dirty towels in the bathroom, the toilet was stained and the bedsheets hadn't been changed. the duvet smelled like it had been sprayed with perfume rather than washed. as we had to pay on arrival we had to resort to buying new bed linen as it wasn't fit to sleep there .

Liked: Friendly owner and staff, very close to the Green Point stadium and easy to reach the city centre.

Disliked: I paid 370 Rand a night for a bed in a small room consisting of 6 beds.When I found a room at the Checkinn Hotel for 330 Rand I moved there! I then had to pay extra for breakfast. ( the breakfast was ok)

Liked: Altona Lodge is an excellent place if you’re looking for a safe and secure place to stay in Cape Town. The manager is a very pleasant and professional ex-policeman with an extended knowledge and understanding what it takes to make your stay safe in a friendly atmosphere. Great location, close to the Waterfront and the beautiful new Greenpoint Football stadium. Highly recommended..

Liked: It was quite a good value. The place was nice, at good price. Vusie and Vivian were excellent in seeing all my needs were met. They were helpful in providing directions on getting around Cape Town too. Vivian's breakfasts were great!!!
