Liked: Having the opportunity to sleep within the confines of a prison cell was a wonderful experience. This area of town had a great feel to it. The hostel was a close walk into town and filled with friendly and helpful staff. I recommend the hostel to everyone.

Disliked: Paying for internet.

Liked: Amazing design of cell bedrooms, brilliant staff, great bar on site, hot powerful showers, comfy bed

Disliked: We couldn't extend our stay as they were fully booked

Liked: Location was perfect for getting to the city center as well as the train and bus stations. Easy to find and helpful staff. All you can eat BBQ for 6 euro was great! My favorite part was the scrambled eggs as part of the included breakfast!

Disliked: the top floor was hot, but plenty of windows to cool it down as long as they are open

Liked: LOVE IT! So clean. So close to train station. If you didn't know any better--the lobby/reception/cafe would seem like a hotel (and a good one at that!). But its also a great place to meet people.

Disliked: Did not necessarily dislike this, but think it should be mentioned: the hostel is surrounded by a bohemian/arty/squatter shack, where they party till dawn...literally. So if you reallly need a quiet night's sleep, this might not be ideal. HOWEVER, with that said, I am not a great sleeper but still think this is a great place. My thoughts on the outside partiers? If you can't beat 'em, join 'em.

Liked: We really liked the overall design of the building. The dining/bar/patio area is very inviting and a good place for meeting other backpackers. Although the ceiling in our 7-bedroom dorm was slanted and, at times, annoying (there was definitely some head-bumping), we found the room to be quite cozy. The breakfast was good and consisted of cold cuts, cereal, bread, and a variety of coffees/teas. Most of the hostel employees were friendly and knowledgeable.

Disliked: The guest kitchen was disappointing. it was cramped and lacked basic kitchen necessities, like dish soap, and plentiful cutlery and dishes. The stove was terrible and difficult to operate. Even the employees had a difficult time turning it on; in fact, one of them tried, was unsuccessful, and simply walked away without a word and never returned. Needless to say, we didn't eat our intended dinner that evening.

Liked: Unique place, lots of common areas to meet people and hang out, bar on site, close to train station, bikes for rent, cheap breakfast

Disliked: The cells are good and fun etc, but the beds are quite small - especially if you're a tall person!

Liked: The party atmosphere was great. The cells and decor were quirky. The facilities were excellent. The staff were very friendly.

Disliked: The location itself although near the train/bus station is perfect for that purpose however it seemed a little unsafe.

Liked: Good location, helpful staff, really good breakfast.

Disliked: We stayed in the 12 bed dorm which doesn't have any features of the prison. The WiFi passwords given out do not always work and did not work on our floor. One of the bathrooms had no door or shower curtain, and the other bathroom could have been cleaner.

Liked: Great rooms, unique. Staff were really helpful. Very clean and secure. Lots of events - really fun atmosphere.

Disliked: Loved it, but others wanting a quiet time may prefer somewhere different.

Liked: A bit pricey, but a cool place to stay. Wasn't there very long, but got the impression I would have loved a longer stay!

Liked: Hostel Celica is an unusual place, being in a prison. It has a great atmosphere and is definitely well worth a visit when in Ljubljana. I was going to stay 2 nights and I stayed 5.

Disliked: I have no criticisms to make

Liked: Interesting experience to sleep in a cell.Nice rooms and areas in main floor and chance to eat, drink, play games or meet ppl

Disliked: The experience of sleeping in a cell is good but not so comfortable. The staff was usually in a hurry cause of too much ppl. Area is ´´alternative´´ but not so clean and attractive to sit for a drink.

Liked: Such a cool building - history that's been improved on by artists- in an area that still filled with artists...and hippies and street art. Close to the train/bus and a concert space! Small (but great) city, so still a quick walk into the center. Our room had a fun loft, even though that meant we couldn't exactly sit up in bed. Towels included, showers are good! Very fun with lots of events in the hostel too.

Disliked: Window didn't open much so it was hot in the room. Check-in is 3pm, but free luggage storage until then.
