Liked: The hostel has a really nice atmosphere and staff are very friendly. The free breakfast was really nice and the morning that we had to leave early the receptionist gave us food to take with us for our journey. We stayed in a private ensuite and the shower was one of the best I've ever had in a hostel.

Disliked: No complaints

Liked: Really nice & cozy hostel, placed in a beautiful house, good facilities. Awesome to meet people and great value breakfast.

Disliked: location a bit off-centre (good 20min walk from main station).

Liked: Hostel was awesome, very modern and clean. Staff were fantastic, timetables and information at your disposal. I wanted to stay again but it was full. Stay here it's the BEST!

Liked: I stayed at this hostel for 5 days when I had only planned to stay for 2 and absolutely loved it! I was treated so well and it really felt like home. Tina and the owner were incredible. They adhered to all my questions and concerns that I had and even planned day trips for us. Matija was excellent in sharing with us his knowledge of Ljubljana and Bled. He made the outings a lot of fun and very relaxing. One evening I twisted my ankle and told the owner in passing about it the following day. Later that day she gave me a cream for my ankle that she sought out for me. This is one example of how above and beyond the staff at this hostel went. Also, the breakfast is great and they offer you several options. This was a home away from home and was truly saddened to leave. I highly recommend this hostel!

Disliked: There was very little I disliked about this property. I did find that the weekend staff were less willing to provide good customer service. They were not as approachable. They were still professional but I guess relative to Tina and the owner, they were not as great to work with. But this is hardly enough to undermine how great this hostel is.

Liked: Nice traditional Slovenian house about 10mins walk to the city centre. Hostel kept very clean and very good free breakfast provided in the morning. Large rooms and specific bathrooms for each room. Good hostel for meeting other people and also for groups travelling together.

Disliked: Given a key for bathroom on arrival, policy of keeping bathroom door locked at all times gets very irritating - never know when it is free or not.

Liked: Well set up hostel, very spacious rooms, great under bed lockers and "cubby" beds with lots of shelf space for your things, nice breakfast included, kitchen (although very small)

Disliked: One of the staff members (I think the owner/manager) was very friendly and helpful; everyone else we met was not friendly or helpful and were not very forthcoming with recommendations or suggestions when asked which was a little disappointing

Liked: It was in a quiet area and the staff were helpful, plus there was somewhere pleasant to sit around with other hostellers. The dorm had a bit of room to put your belongings too, which is good.

Liked: I like the way the beds were organized in the rooms, you had kind of your privacy. Tee, coffee and interent was available. And lockers too. Quite close to the centre.

Disliked: A bit off the train station. Otherwise fine. More varied breakfast (ham, cheese, bolied eggs) would be welcome.

Liked: One of the best hostels I have stayed in. I have traveled for many years and have stayed at over 120 hostels. Vila Veselova is one of my top 5 places to stay. They have an awesome spread for breakfast, big comfy beds, large lockers, plenty of space in the room, and plenty of computers. One my last night I had forgotten to take my camera charger with me and the staff, especially Sara and Kaja, were so nice to help try and get it returned to me. The staff do an excellent job of looking after their guests.

Liked: Very clean, staff were very helpful in showing us around the hostel, their services and information on activities, and were always friendly. Breakfast is included which is a bonus. It was a quiet hostel so not much of a party atmosphere but we came here to relax so it was perfect for us, we even had a whole dorm room to ourselves for the first night!

Liked: Absolutely everything, it's one of the best hostels I have EVER stayed in! It feels like a hotel or a posh house :)

Liked: The staff were very helpful and friendly, and the new owner seems very enthusiastic about the hostel. We felt very comfortable at the hostel and ended up staying an extra night, and would definately stay here again if we were in Ljubljana again. It was the cheapest hostel we could find at the time and it was such good value for money.

Disliked: Nothing really although maybe a few more hobs in the kitchens would be a good idea.... and the convection hob was a bit confusing!

Liked: The hostel was good. There were big secure draws that could fit a suitcase and backpack. The showers were quite small, and it was hard to keep clothes/towels dry. The hostel was really close to a big park/hill, which was great for a morning run. Ljubljana is SO LOVELY, and I'll def. be going back there.

Disliked: The girl who checked me in was less that friendly, it was like my checking-in was an inconvience to her. However the next day she was friendly, so maybe she was just having a bad day. Another staff member was so sweet and booked a shuttle to the airport for me and left a note on my bed with the details (so thoughtful!).

Liked: My husband and I loved this hostel! We spent three weeks touring Europe so we stayed in lots of hostels and this was by far the cheapest and best value for money and the best of them all. It is within walking distance to the centre of Ljubljana. It is full of character which most hostels usually lack. The owners have put loads of effort into the decor and feel of the place. Each floor has its own kitchenette with tea and coffee on the go all the time and two computers to use for free which is a really great extra. The rooms are all done uniquely and the bed set up is excellant. It's bunk beds but they are like your own little cabin when you are in them with your own light and sockets and drawers and cupboards. Very comfortable too. The hostel has a great atmosphere as well, helped by the fact you all have to sit around a dinner table together to have breakfast. Breakfast included is a great bonus also. All in all this hostel is incredible and I would love to stay there again.

Disliked: Quite a distance from the train station and some directions on getting there would be helpful (we got lost although the people of Ljubljana are very kind and helpful)

Liked: Very helpful staff, organised our two days, sorted transport, the lot! Really nice little hostel.

Disliked: Nothing really, maybe slightly too many people per bathroom but not a major hassle.

Liked: The hostel had a really great feel to it. In a beautiful building with comfortable common areas (kitchen, breakfast area) it felt like a grand house. The dorms and bunks were very comfortable and the free breakfast very good quality. Free towel, free kitchen use, free breakfast, free internet- it was certainly good value! It's a great hostel, that I would definitely recommend!

Disliked: Although it feels a little far away, it was really only a short walk to the center (that means it's pretty quiet at night).

Liked: Clean. Bathroom shared only with those in room. Breakfast included. Staff helpful.

Disliked: Location, bit out of town, right by trainline and main road, so lots of traffic noise. Came home a couple of times and the room had been cleaned and then the door left wide open with our stuff in there. No lockers. Not a good common area.
