Situated in the heart of the medieval town of Radovljica, our family‑run restaurant and Guesthouse has been hosting guests since 1873 and still bears the name of its first owner Rudolf Kunstelj.

Mr Kunstelj sold the farmhouse and the inn to a landowner and wine merchant Pavlin, who sold the inn to Jerica Štiherle in 1926. Today, the guests are welcomed by the fourth generation of the Štiherle family.

The restaurant is divided into summer and winter sectors, and we can seat up to 300 guests; the winter sector is open late October through late April. Summer garden is open for the rest of the year and is excellent for special events.

We have a very special vine growing in our Small Wine Square. Descendant of the oldest noble vine in the world was the present from the city of Maribor to Radovljica. The original vine variety “žametna črnina” (Vitis vinifera var. Sativa) that grows in Maribor made it into the Guinness Book of Records.

The Guesthouse offers single, double and twin rooms with the possibility of an additional third bed (with supplement of Euro 23.00)

Location Information

The Guesthosue and Restaurant Kunstelj is located in the heart of the medieval town of Radovljica, just few kilometers outside Bled.

We offer bicycle hiring. Most of the roads in Radovljica and its surroundings, except for the main highway and the local road through Lipnica Valley are very favorable for bicyclists. The road from Lesce towards Bled is exclusively for bicyclists. There are several bicycle paths in the region. We recommend tours to Bled, Kropa, Brezje, Begunje and Žirovnica.
For small groups more and less demanding guided tours can be arranged.

Numerous cultural and social events take place year-round in the Radovljica municipality. The most events take place in the summer. The main cultural event is the international Radovljica Festival. For 25 years the roughly 10.day August event has presented concerts in St. Peter’s Church and the Thurn Mansion of Medieval, Renaissance and Baroque music.
Not far from Radovljica are two Casinos one in Lesce and another in Bled.
