Customer reviewAlthough a ten minute drive from, the owner will drive you each morning and return you each evening. The hostel itself was great. There are mountain views all around and for an extra 6 euros you can get a very big three course meal in the evening. We are definitely planning on returning to this hostel. It was well worth the money and the inclusive breakfasts were also a very good start to the day. |

Ferenc HegyesiHelpful and kind staff, but the given address on hostelbookers is absolutly WRONG. Correct address is: Selo pri Zirovnica!!!! So the hostel is about 8km far from the lake of Bled. |

Customer reviewit's great to stay there if you have your own car and can get around by yourself - parking in bled "downtown" is nearly impossible. but I understand the comments of travellers without car - too far outside. |

Customer reviewPapa is the best little old man hostel owner... ever! Him and Mama (not officially called these names) took complete care of us, driving us to and from wherever you wished to go, free of charge and Mama cooks you a hot breakfast in the morning included in the price, also cereal and yogurts available. Also for 6 euros mama cooks an 3 course meal every evening. The room was lovely with plenty of space and a private bathroom. Also free use of the bikes and any activities you are intrested in Papa will call and set up for you. Papa (Damian to his face) was absolutly amazing from start to finish, our only regret is that we couldn't stay longer. The only downfall is that there isn't self-catering facilities, but mama's food was inexpensive. go to this hostel. |

Customer reviewDamien is a friendly guy who tries really hard to make your stay fun. The main problem is that the hostel is located so far out of town, and you are dependent on him to drive you to and from the lake. A better option will be to stay in town itself. |

Customer reviewBeds comfy, showers fine, meals were delicious & amazing value! Friendly staff. Only donwside is location - although they give you lifts into Bled in the morning & pick you up in the evening it limits your freedom, so you're unable to enjoy the lake at night (without finding alternative transport) |

Customer reviewThe owners were VERY friendly! They picked us up from the train station and dropped us off very early in the morning. The owners cooked an amazing, authentic dinner for everyone. They also let us use their bikes and provided a lot of information about the area. The hostel was not the cleanest, however I highly recommend it for the atmosphere and scenery! |

Carrie KnittelReally cute place run by a sweet family. This place isn't sparkly and new by any means, but it's clean with lots of character. A good hot breakfast is included (avoid the coffee though), and for about 6 euros Mama will make you a homemade Slovenian dinner. Very fun atmosphere. Met some great people here. I give this place the lowest mark on location, but Damien will pickup/dropoff in town as needed. Lovely place. |

Customer reviewThis is, in all honesty, the coolest place I have ever stayed while backpacking. Damian and Maritska live there and run the place. Damian picks you up from the train station and then drops you back off when you're leaving. He also drives you into town every morning and then picks you up at the end of the day. His wife cooks a really delicious breakfast in the morning (fried and scrambled eggs when we were there), in addition to cereal, yogurt, fruit and coffee/tea. She also cooks dinner at night which was the best deal EVER. For 6 euro you get a huge pot of soup, a salad, big plate of food and dessert. The food varies every night and is so fresh and delicious and all for 6 euro!! On our last night, she had gone out to pick fresh blueberries for our dessert - SO yummy. As for meeting other people, it's super conducive for that! Everyone hangs out in the saloon (as Damian calls it) which is right beside the kitchen. Everyone will hang out there to eat dinner and then play cards or games or read, etc. My bud and I just met some real great folks and had such fun just playing cards. It's essentially a log cabin in the mountains about 15 minutes (driving) from the center of Bled (remember, Damian drives you to/from wherever you want to go that day). The Lake Bled is kind of overrated, in my opinion, although it was raining when we were there, so we didn't get to go canyoning or anything like that. A must see is Vintgar Gorge - totally worth it and SO dang beautiful! |

Kristin RamshawI loved the homecooked (cheap) meals that Maria makes!!! Very homey feel, they really like to take care of you! I met some great people there. The downstairs pub/lounge/restaurant is a great place to hang out and meet other travelers. I loved this place. I would stay there again in a heartbeat! |

Anita SabagVery friendly and welcoming place to stay, with great breakfast included and you can get a fantastic home cooked Slovenian dinner for 6 euros. We stayed for 2 nights after already staying in Bled previously, so we explored the local area and also went horseriding. Would love to come back again, maybe in winter! Would highly recommend for anyone who would like to see a more authentic side of the Bled area, outside of the tourist drag. |
