Liked: The staff were very Accomodating warm spirited and Friendly, really enjoyed our stay with them, and I definitely recommend the Jakelj Backpackers House!

Liked: The common area is fairly homely, the internet is free and the cooked eggs on toast in the morning are gold!

Disliked: Its location is its main downfall. It is actually outside of Bled and even though there is a free daily transfer to and from the lake, once you are back at the hostel, you are essentially stranded unless you have a car. For the majority of my stay, the only staff member around at the hostel was the owner's mother, who was unpleasant at times. The main issue there was the language barrier - she speaks no English but in an urgent situation, I suppose Niko is available by phone to speak to. Please also be aware that in Slovenia, there is a €1,01 tax per person per night that is not included in the price - this is charged on top of the quoted price at most accommodations in Slovenia.

Liked: Where to even begin? Treated like a member of family (even offered a ride to the doctor when we were sick). Rides given to Bled and pick up, so location is no issue. Immaculately clean and quiet. Mama's cooking (free breakfast, €7 dinner) is so great. Niko offers great advice. Free bikes and a nice ride into Bled. Horseback riding. Free wi-fi in kitchen area. Free computer as well. All-around great people. We are so glad we stayed here, it was definitely the best accommodation on our Europe backpacking trip. Wish we lived closer so we could visit more often!

Disliked: Only issue was that we weren't given a key, and the main entrance wasn't usually locked

Liked: everything! this hostel is everything you need when travelling. the family looking after you are truly great and will do everything to accomodate your stay. ignore any comments about its location being away from lake bled, its an amazing cycle there which doewsnt take long or the family will drop off and pick up! the dinner for 7 euros and the free breakfast is the best i have ever had in a hostel. recommended to anyone.

Liked: Best hostel ever - more like being accepted into the family during the stay, nothing is too much effort. Would definitely recommend to anybody travelling to Slovenia!

Liked: Free breakfast ranging from pancakes one day, to toasted sandwiches the next, free cereal and tea/coffee. The 3 course dinner (home cooked by mama) was good value at 7€, but there wasn't many other options as town was so far.

Disliked: It was misleading to say in was in Bled, but it was nice to get out of town, if you are looking for something quiet. Don't come here if you want to party. Also- watch out forthe 'free shuttle service' as thusis only when the owner is available! Wewaited

Liked: The owner of the hostel is the nicest person ever, he provides a free pick up. You just have to phone him and with his mini bus he will bring you at the hostel. You can eat a tasty meal (suppe, meat+noodle und dessert) for only 7euros. The brekfast is included in the price of the bed, to eat there are toasts, marmelade, corn flakes and even a hand made omelette :). In the morning, Jakeln establishes 3 shuttles to go in Bled and is always available to provide you good tips for your work! Thanks a lot again :)

Liked: surrounded by nature and great scenery, absolutely amazing staff who do anything to make your stay great, plus the food was amazing. Highly recommended.

Disliked: It is a bit out of Bled, so location wise not ideal, but transport and free bikes are provided.

Liked: This was the best hostel I have ever stayed at!!! It is such a great place to relax and enjoy Bled, you feel right at home!!! The staff is amazing and they pick you up and drop you off from the station and the town, since the lake is a bit far from the hostel. Personally homemade breakfast every morning and a 7 euro 4 course meal that is delicious!!!! If your coming to Bled...you HAVE to stay here.

Liked: Beautiful surrounding with one of the friendliest hostel managers I've ever met- I was made to feel more than welcome here. I recommend using the bicycles and cycling to the lake as the scenery was beautiful.

Liked: I loved everything about this hostel! One of the best I've stayed in...feels like home, nice home cooked meals, everyone is so friendly and helpful, they go out of their way for you here. Free hot breakfast is great too and the rooms are the right price.

Liked: Loved staying at this hostel, they really bend over backwards to make you happy and comfortable. Probably the best hostel experience I have had. It's like coming home to your grandmothers place with the uncles hanging around.

Liked: The staff was extremely helpful and friendly going above and beyond for their guests. I lost my wallet at the lake and they were a great help in getting it back. Thanks so much! Momma"s cooking is not only an excellent deal but really tasty definitely eat there at least once.

Liked: Unbelievably friendly host. free pick-up to Bled lake every day and to train station on request. The meals cooked there are very tasty and cheap. Free bike hire and links for numerous activities such as white water rafting and horse riding

Liked: the staff were extrtremely helpgful. breakfast is included which is really great value for money. Also you can eat Mamas cooking everynight for only 7 euros - mamas cooking is a 3 course meal of traditional food- so filling!! even though it is slightly out of town it doesnt matter as they provide free shuttle transport!

Liked: This is the best hostel I have stayed at for a long time. The family will go out of their way to accomodate you and the distance outside of bled is never a problem. Breakfast is free and amaying! and mamas dinners are so good and cheap. bikes to rent are good and i could have stayed here for much longer! comfy beds and good food! complete package!

Liked: The staff went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. Niko made us feel completely at home and Mamas soup was the best! Good breakfasts too. Niko helped to organise our days, gave us a free taxi service. and provided information for all of the different activities. I would definitely recommend this hostel, it has been our favourite one so far. I am sure we will be back for a visit again soon.
