Liked: Great staff, especially Greg, who was so keen to help us make the most of our stay. Clean rooms, and good to have the George Best bar underneath, making it easy to meet people.

Disliked: No kitchen to make/keep food.

Liked: Located above one of the most popular pubs in the town. Very friendly staff and all the locals speak excellent english.

Liked: the bar is a good place to meet people, one of the most happening spots in town

Disliked: if you're not up to party and want to sleep early this is probably not the place for you as the bar is quite noisey - even after it closes as the staff stay on and have their own party, but if you're up for a party then it's not a problem - it was great in my case, travelling alone - great to meet other people.

Liked: Bar. Lack of other hostels.

Disliked: Most of it. Staff were unfriendly. There was a mix-up with our booking. It's not really a hostel - more just some rooms above a bar. Not worth the price. Leaking shower. Bad smell. Doors left open all day - anyone could walk in. Games room is a joke. One place to access internet and it's not even that great.

Liked: It is right above a bar so it's very easy to just go downstairs and meet people. It may not look like the bartenders can help you with tourist information but they are actually very helpful. We rented bikes from the hostel and there were also offers for many of the outdoor activities at a discount.

Disliked: The bathrooms were good, not great.

Liked: spacious rooms and clean. fairly good location - on the same street as several other hostels. main problem is there was no kitchen and no food available to purchase either.

Liked: There were good security boxes in the rooms, one for each bed. The people staying there were nice. There was an outdoor activities company run out of the hostel which was useful for organising stuff.

Disliked: Bathrooms were definitely not clean enough. It would be nice if breakfast or some food was on offer to buy.

Liked: Very friendly and laid back atmosphere. Location was great, and the pub downstairs was brilliant.Price wise It was very reasonable.

Liked: the location is ok and yes it is above a bar (even if the bar appeared to only be used by middle aged local men).

Disliked: door is never locked between rooms and bar and all lockers in our room broken. sheets didnt cover the beds and didnt have any interaction with actual hostel staff. only bar staff whose first priority is clearly not the hostel. emailed two days before asking for directions and never received a reply

Liked: The staff at the pub were extremely helpful even though there was usually only one of them working, trying to run the pub and the hostel at the same time! They were very friendly and apologetic when there was a problem with our room. Good location.Other reviewers had complained about the noise but we didn't find this to be too much of a problem - and we were there at the weekend!

Disliked: The bathrooms were not particularly clean and one of the locks was broken, meaning more queues for showers in the remaining bathrooms... the fact that there is no dedicated reception (instead there is the pub staff downstairs and the mobile number of the manager up on the hostel wall) meant that we had to wait for a long time to check in / when we had a problem with our rooms - though this is no reflection on the staff themselves who obviously work very hard trying to run both the pub and the hostel at once!

Liked: This has got to be one of the best hostels I have ever stayed in! Situated above a pub which was an amazing place to socialise with other hostellers, locals and anyone passing through. It was really close to everything and the rooms and facilities were excellent. The staff were really lovely too.

Disliked: I genuinely don't think there was anything I didn't like about this place.

Liked: Hostel is above a pub within walking distance from the main part of Bled and bus station. The pub was noisy but it was the National day and it is a locals pub so it is great if you want to meet people. The lake is 5 mins walk and there is a nice pizza place at the end of the street. All the hostels seem to be around this location and there is a supermarket. Laundry service is available too. Owner is very friendly and organised. Also there is a path to the castle two minutes down the road.

Liked: If you are craving a good, old fashioned backpackers, this is the place! Right above a bar, simple rooms, it reminds you more of a backpackers on the south east Asia circuit or somewhere more intrepid, not done up to look like a hotel/resort with prices to match like in much of Europe. The guy that runs it, John, is so helpful, as are his staff. They will organise any adventure you like, call the train station to ask about connections when you just murmur interest in going somewhere, they even dropped me at the train station so I didnt have to walk with my pack! The internet was broken but he brought his laptop and charger from home or they let you behind the bar...very laid back! They really need a kitchen though, or at least a fridge. But if you want to get outdoors in Bled, this is the place to be! Take earplugs on a Saturday night though, if there is important sport on the tv downstairs the Slovenes can get a bit rowdy!

Liked: the location is good, but it is a must to take ear plugs because of the bar downstairs.. it was practically impossible to sleep, a huge minus of the hostel.. otherwise the rooms are fine, the bathroom could be nicer..

Liked: nice dorms, friendly staff and well run, its a small town so no complaints on location. however when i stayed i was the only one their so not a lot of fun. also had three days of freezing showers which werent lot of fun either. the irony of naming the pub after george best is genius
