Liked: The room small, but clean and showers and kitchen kept in pristine condition. Restaurants and food stalls can be found metres from the front gate and the nearby Heartland Mall includes a ground level supermarket and offers further dining options. A cat with a friendly disposition and fine coat which interacts well with the guests. The Kovan MRT across the road from the above mentioned Mall is less than five minutes walk away.

Disliked: The check-in process took 30 minutes with the owner insisting on retention of passport while I walked to the ATM to withdraw funds to pay for my accommodation there. The $50 key deposit was a bit steep and when I returned at about 1.00 pm on the day of departure was warned that I would incur a penalty of $5 which they then tried to double because I made the mistake of eating lunch there before moving on to Malaysia.

Liked: This hostel was so cute. Really interestingly decorated and the girl who works there is so sweet and helpful. It has a really homely feel and AWESOME showers! Bedrooms are comfy and clean. Kitchen facilities are great and cos its a small place its always clean and you never need to wait to use it.

Disliked: The doors lock but are a little flimsy so there is not much sound privacy.

Liked: Well located. 2 minutes walk to the Metro line (NE13 Kovan). Restaurant & shopping center very near. The subway system is great & not expensive. Easy access to every site. S$17 Taxi from the airport. We took a private room, it is very small but OK.. (P.S. we are over 55)

Disliked: All is good.

Liked: It is a simple but very clean and friendly place. It is maybe a bit far from the centre of Singapore, but the metro is just 2 steps away and brings you everywhere. We liked to stay here very much.

Disliked: Nothing

Liked: The cat is very cute. It's cheap for Singapore, probably the cheapest that isn't in the red light district.

Disliked: The garden isn't really a garden- more like a concrete drive way.

Disliked: the hostel said our room was flooded so they cannot offer us a room and recommend us another hostel which is away from MRT station. We reject the choice and ask for refund but the hostel refused to refund because if they cannot provide a room for us, their only obligation is to offer an alternative choice for us which they have made already. So, they think they did what they should do and refuse to refund.

Liked: location very close to MRT (3mins walk), generally clean & well-kept, I had free parking (came by car), free internet. A decent place to stay if it wasn't for the high price (I find $35 per person per night a bit steep for staying in a room resembling a prison cell, even in singapore).

Disliked: I was required to pay for early check-in for just 1hr45mins before check-in time (absolutely no flexibility!), they asked to hold my passport until I went to change money (which I didn't appreciate & was unnecessary given that my parents were in the room & the car was parked inside). The room was very small & we could hear everything in the next room & in the common area. Expect to pay dearly for basically any service that's not provided in the room price: don't delay ur check-out & don't come early even 1hr, don't expect a free shower or to check ur e-mail after u checked out, they will charge you like crazy. A decent hostel overall but the cold-blooded business attitude is smth I didn't appreciate in a place which was supposed to be backpacker-friendly.

Liked: Near MRT, double rooms are nice and have tv, mattress on floor, kept very clean, good for Singapore prices. Exceptionally clean actually. They tidy your room every day like a hotel.

Disliked: When we got there the staff member didnt introduce herself and just asked for the money, didnt feel a friendly vibe from her during the stay. The bathroom is through the kitchen so we felt self concious as people in the kitchen can hear you.

Liked: Good location only 5 mins from Kovan MRT station - downtown 25 mins from there.

Disliked: Room security - whilst the door locks it wouldn't be difficult to force it open. Need to walk through the kitchen area to get to bathroom.

Liked: Room was very comfortable and clean, Hawker centre next door was great for cheap tasy food and beer (for Singapore prices)

Disliked: No comunal area when it rained apart from the kitchen (no aircon)

Liked: (1)location: peaceful surroundings same as with the community, and accessibility to public transport as well as with the basic necessities. (MRT, BUS, HEARTLAND MALL, KOVAN HOCKER CENTER) (2) good place to rest and relax after a whole day of adventure (3) privacy is not an issue (4) the hostel staff was very accommodating. she addresses our needs to the best of her knowledge. (5) we love ROMEO the cat( white garfield)

Disliked: (1) common area is a bit crowded, fitting six people in the dining area could quite a challenge. ( better to move the other refrigerator to add more space)

Liked: The room and the bathroom was very clean and it al looks really nice. The kitchen is good as well.

Disliked: - The location is really bad. It's close to the subway, but it's still 25 minutes by train to Chinatown. - They let you pay for the use of towels. C'mon, One Florence Close... Think about service and hospitality! - It's very, very noisy! So bring your earplugs! - The WIFI is NOT working.....

Liked: very clean but also very small rooms (OK its singapore). its a small hostel with less then 10 rooms. location is in a quite local district, but a lite bit outside of the city (3 mins walk to MRT Kovan Stn, ~15mins by MRT to the city, ~45mins to changi). a normal supermarket, a small mall and a food court are directly at the MRT station.

Disliked: the public PC and wifi is free of charge, but you need to ask for the password, internet is lame and faithless (~10% packet loss). i can also sign what Laura Mallows wrote (good review)...

Liked: The bedrooms whilst small were cozy, free wi fi although 2 out of the 3 days it did not work properly, they also have a pc which is free to use. also had a communal fridge that could be used.

Disliked: The cats litter tray smells and is in the kitchen. location is not great but near to the MRT so not too much of a problem. The toilets are open aired and right next to the kitchen and main social area, not pleasant and makes you feel rather uncomfortable There was only one staff member (a young lady) who was very unhelpful. Whenever we asked questions we got short mumbled answers. She did not seem to want to share her local knowledge of the area or seem uninterested in helping us when we needed things such as a printer. It is a nice clean hostel, but sometimes you are willing to overlook small flaws for friendly helpful staff, maybe One Florence Close should consider that. a $50 key deposit is too big, what are you going to do with that much money once you are leaving the country!?? in 6 months we have always been able to use the hostel facilities once checked out, however at this hostel you are charged for everything as soon as you are checked out (except for keeping your bags on the premises until 6pm and so far..wifi).
