Liked: nice atmosphere, good place to meet others. We received extra blankets and everything was clean.

Disliked: only 3 showers / toilets for more than 30 people - can get crowded. When we arrived we got a VERY short and not really friendly information by an older couple, who was very interested in selling the Bus tour to us. Not sure if they were the owners, but this put us a bit off. Nevertheless the staff the next day was super friendly and helpful.

Liked: The showers were amazing--great water pressure. I liked that there was a shuttle that took me directly to the hostel and picked me up too since I'm only in Singapore for a long layover. If I came here to do the tourist thing, I think I would stay here again. It's clean, affordable, and comfortable!

Disliked: I wanted to use my phone to take pictures of the hostel to show my friends what a cool place I was staying in but the staff told me that pictures are not allowed. I don't know why they would turn down free publicity!

Liked: Super nice staff. Very professional. Close to a community center with yoga, tai chi class, MRT Nice common lounge you can sit and rest all day with AC on Good breakfast. Hot and cold drinking water available all day. Super clean

Disliked: AC on a bit too late and off a bit early. But it is good for energy conservation. Should open the windows to air out the mugginess.

Liked: Staff are very friendly and helful. Its kitchen is very functional.

Disliked: Temperature around common room and bathroom is quite warm. You have to switch cooling fan on aside Air-con.

Liked: - Clean - beds, bathroom, showers, all of it was very clean - Bed was comfortable with a universal power outlet and light bulb for each bed - Staff are incredibly nice and helpful, particularly Henry. - Bottom bunks had privacy curtains - Friendly and considerate crowd - Breakfast of bread, peanut butter, nutella, bananas, and coffee/tea all day. Simple but nice. - Modern design - Not a "party hostel" - Secure: each locker key has an RFID tag that allows access at the front door. - GREAT location: River City Inn is in the heart of the Riverside area between Boat, Quay and Clarke Quay. Likewise the Central mall is just a block a way (good for cash/small items but otherwise it has more upscale brands, good food court in basement). There are tons of food options (try Songfa Bak Kuh Teh) and plenty of nightlife options along the river there. Do note that it's slightly more expensive than other parts of Singapore, but not prohibitively so. Walking distance (~10 min) to Chinatown and the Maxwell Food Center (try Tian Tian Hainanese Chicken Rice). Clarke Quay MRT station is right at the Central mall but if coming from the airport it's probably easier and nicer to walk from the Raffles Place MRT station as you won't have to transfer lines. If you need to print something, like a train ticket or boarding pass, there's a small internet cafe on Eu Tong Street southwest of the Clarke Quay MRT on the same side.

Disliked: - Only 3 shower stalls and 3 toilets, so a line can form at peak hours (morning and evening before people go out). - Common area is relatively small: two couches that could fit 3 people each if they got cozy, and then a moderately sized kitchen table. - It's on the fourth floor and there is no elevator - just be aware of this if you have a large/heavy bag. Shouldn't be a problem for most people

Liked: Very clean and has all the facilities you need eg wifi, breakfast, computers

Disliked: There are only 3 toilets and 3 showers for the entire hostel, so gets very busy in the evening. Not really much of a place to hang out and meet others. A very small communal area

Liked: I really liked staying at River City In and I've already recommended it to some friends who are coming to Singapore soon. It's neat and clean, the staff is nice and super service minded and the location is awesome.

Disliked: Apart from breakfast being peanut butter & jam sandwiches, which I personally don't like, I have nothing to complain about!

Liked: First, I love location of River city inn near clark quay station. I could find it without any difficulty, and I enjoyed sightseeing everyday even at night baecause of its location. Second, the staffs of River city inn were very kind, so I could get help whenever I needed.

Disliked: As there was no lift, I had a bit of difficulty in going up to 4th floor with my trunk.

Liked: one of the best hostels I ever stayed. you do not even need to worry about 26 bed dorm because I think it is more fun than 6 bed dorm. totally secure and clear. it is family run hostel and whole family members are very friendly.

Liked: It's very central in a safe area at night. The hostel is very clean and the beds are comfy. Just could do with more showers but this was only a problem once for me.
