Liked: The staff were helpful enough and the location to the MRT stations was excellent. The local food quarters offered cheap and tasty food options.

Disliked: Additional service charge upon arrival of 10%. Very thin walls with gaps (and holes boarded up with wood!!), where 2 rooms share 1 window, so no protection from loud and smelly neighbours (in our case, a child screaming throughout the night). Rooms very small so could have done with some form of storage/ hanging facility for clothes/ posessions to utilise space. Breakfast was limited to toast with butter and jam. Overall, building requires maintenance work.

Liked: The room was very clean

Disliked: There were only unisex toilets which weren't too clean after few hours (if you were unlucky). Also showers and toilets together was not too hygienic and if you only wanted to go to toilet it was wet most of the time because people showered at the same place, it was ok still. Tough the room was clean, it was also plain and had nothing extra

Liked: The reception staff were very friendly and helpful. We had wifi in our room and the aircon was extremely good.

Disliked: Our room was a bit of a cell (no windows) but this did at least mean it stayed cool and quiet.

Liked: It is located along the MRT so it's not really a problem that the surrounding area offers not that much to do. The hostel itself has everything that a basic level backpacker hostel should has: breakfast, TV-room, internet, washing machines, kitchen, etc. The place is also clean enough.

Disliked: You can easily hear the noise coming from the street to the rooms during the night. There seems to be more or less only one (!) active member of staff - as such a capable guy - who has the customer service, cleaning, current businesses and everything else on his responsibility, which makes everything to seem a bit topsy-turvy. Remember Singaporean-style 10 % extra charge!

Disliked: they charged a mandatory surcharge of 10% to their published prize. and it is not a tax. just another way to coherse more money out of guests.

Liked: Pretty good location near MRT and good eats nearby. Clean hostel.

Disliked: Dislike the 10% service charge they add. They do state this in "small print". Still why not be above board and just put in price...? Every body hates sneaky taxes right? Private twin is tiny with bunk beds only.. Long wait for toilets and shower...

Liked: Very Friendly atmosfer, like beening at home.Very nice living room with Big screen TV and many movies, Nice Beds with clean bed linned (Ikea) Friendly also for children (4 y)

Disliked: Situated on third floor, so hard to bring your stuff up, (but host helpfull)

Liked: The hostel is in a great location. They fixed the broken showers and toilets pretty quick. The private twin rooms are nice, air conditioning works like a charm. Great places to eat nearby and awesome MRT just a few steps away.

Disliked: We arrived at 1am or so and we had a 2 rooms booked. Both managers who did not show up and after calling them, they told us to call the other manager, even after we told them that the other manager is not coming and we contacted them. They started to not pick up their phones, and the woman kept yelling and yelling, so I just hung up on her. Luckily long term residents helped us, so we checked in about 2 hours or so after we were suppose to. Someone else showed up who may have worked there or was just a long term resident. The bathroom was cleaned somewhat regularly but was still dirty and toilets stopped working after a while. The 10% tax most singapore hostels charge because hostelbookers charges 10% is annoying, so just be ready for paying 110% or so.

Liked: Very near to the MRT, perfect location. Comfortable beddings

Disliked: Not really a problem, but beware that you may have to transfer to another building instead of the main building of the hostel. It's on the 3rd floor so carrying heavy luggage may be a bit of a trouble.
