About our Hotels

Centrally-located in the trendy downtown Boat Quay / Clarke Quay area, Summer Tavern is Singapore’s premier hostel / bed and breakfast. Also we do provide Deluxe Rooms with attached Bathrooms at 16 CARPENTER STREET, SUMMER TAVERN.

Our tastefully-decorated 5-storey hostels are located in the heart of Singapore's tourist and shopping district, within very short walking distance from many of Singapore's best bars, restaurants, cafes, shopping and tourist attractions such as Boat Quay (1-minute walk away), Clarke Quay (3-5 mins walk), Chinatown (5 mins walk), Empress Place (2-4 mins walk), and many more.

The MRT (Singapore's subway that brings you to almost all other places of interest) is right at the end of our block, less than a 1-minute walk away. Orchard Road (Dhoby Ghaut) is 1 train stop (3 minutes) away.

At Summer Tavern we aim to provide you with an enjoyable stay (yup, fully air-conditioned) within a very affordable budget, as well as a great, fun place to meet (in-house beer lounge or open-air rooftop... your choice) and exchange notes with fellow travellers. We have a library well-stocked with a comprehensive selection of travel guidebooks, popular local magazines and newspapers.

We have more than 60 beds in 4 fully air-conditioned and clean, well maintained, non-smoking dormitories (and 1 honeymoon room). Ample bathing and toilet facilities are available on each floor.

Location Information

A Prized Location
Summer Tavern is situated in the heart of the city. Our location can be described as a 10-minute wonder. For within ten minutes you can walk to : the Civic District comprising of heritage areas, archive, library, museums and art houses; the Financial District to feel the pulse of a global citystate; the Waterfront to catch famous atractions such as the Merlion, the Explanade- theatres on the Bay, and a breathtaking view of the skyline and Marina Bay; and there is Chinatown, right behind us. Then you can stroll down to Raffles Hotel and relax with the Singapore Sling or walk to Kampong Glam, the old Malay/Arab enclave with Arab, Baghdad, and Mosque Streets, where the early settlers lived. And, there is the Sultan Mosque.

And, if you catch the mass transit at Clarke Quay MRT, which is at our doorstep, within five minutes you would be at Little India, Orchard Road, or alight at Habourfront MRT to adventure into Sentosa. Our prized locale allows you easy and convenient access to places like the Singapore Zoo, the Singapore Bird Park and to housing estates to sample the way locals live.
We are also in the heart of night life. On our left is Clarke Quay and on the right is Boay Quay. And within ten minutes you can reach other famous and chic lounges, bars and clubs like Ministry of Sound, St James Power Station, Mohd Sultan Road to Orchard Towers.

As for food and shopping, you will be spoilt. Singapore's reputation as a food and shopping paradise speaks for itself
Traveling by MRT
If travelling by MRT, alight at the Clarke Quay (North-East Line) station. Follow exit E from the station. Upon exit, on your left you will find a traffic light with a pedestrian crossing. Take the pedestrian crossing across Eu Tong Sen Street / New Bridge Road. You will find Carpenter Street on your right. Summer Tavern will be just around the corner.
