Liked: Clean room and toilet.

Disliked: Theres a fight few days ago. And they yelling on the street. after the fight The old man (The man employed in fernloft) came to my room and stand on the door for few minutes. and he scared me. I think hes drunk. then left. I got nervous and I dont want to come back in Fernloft again.

Liked: Chris at reception is very helpful. I booked a bed through hostelbookers but the hostel never received the reservation, and it was fully booked when I arrived. Chris offered that I can have a shower and refresh after my long flight, whilst he sorted out a bed for me, which was really kind.

Disliked: Customer left no negative feedback.

Liked: I like the staff, they were very friendly and helpful. Also the place was fairly easy to find once I had the address and they were helpful in getting me there. Also I liked the rooftop area where I could do my exercises.

Disliked: It was good.

Liked: I love the fact that it is near to the airport and East Coast Park beach. Thank you so much for the great hospitality offered by Uncle Chris and other staff there. The neighbourhood is safe and friendly. The free lend of bicycle was an added value, depends on the traveller itself. The sunrise at the beach was marvellous. It feels like home to me. I love it.

Disliked: MONEIRAH left no negative feedback.

Liked: I could not have asked for a better place to stay while in Singapore. The hostel is right across the street from the bus that brings you downtown, about a 10 or 15 minute walk from the sea and right above a bar and near many other restaurants. The staff was super helpful and the other travelers staying there were great.

Disliked: Amy left no negative feedback.

Liked: We really enjoyed our stay here and would definatley recommend people to stay here. Brilliant location, wonderful staff. Clean and safe place to stay. I will definatley stay here again!

Liked: I got my single room in the end, breakfast was ok, nothing fancy, but good coffee and lot's of it

Disliked: I booked a private double about three month in advance, arrived at the property after a long flight and some bus jouney only to be told that they were overbooked and that I had to go to the other Fernloft hostel in Chinatown (they paid the taxi), but after all that travelling I had a date and had to rearrange pick up points and originally wanted to stay close to the beach and NOT in the center

Liked: Nice quiet and respectful area, 7/11 shop near the hostel, close to airport, bus stop near the hostel, only 2 stops by bus to MRT.

Disliked: Hostel is very old and in need of repair. There is no window in 4-bed room like closet, air condition is very old and noisy.

Liked: with filipino workers who assisted us the best they could.

Disliked: we booked for a ten bedded room, unfortunately, we were told that a six female dorm is adjoining the 10 bedded room. Because of lack of information with the hostel bookers, we already paid the down payment, so we nevertheless took the 10 bedded room. The other thing is, when we arrived at the airport, we were not fetched as promised, and we nearly lost our booking had I not insisted that I received an email from April, the wife of the owner. But we were compensated as we were told to get a taxi and was reimbursed with the pay. another dismay is that, on the second night we were added with 3 more beds in the room. so the 10 bedded became 14 at the first night then at the second night was with 3 more. they should stick to the ad posted with the hostelbookers.

Liked: It was clean well maintained, including the bedding, shower areas, kitchen. Close to public transport and great food outlets.

Liked: Good location, next to a bus stop and places to eat. It's cosy also.

Disliked: Not really much to choose from at breakfast.

Liked: The atmosphere was friendly and it sits on top of a pub that is very lively so that is a bonus. The guy running it is a real character and will have you laughing!!

Disliked: A little way out of the centre but that is advertised

Liked: The location is SUPERB. I like it because I got to see the other side of Singapore. The housing (not CBD or apartments), school complex, parks, beach. East Coast is a nice neighbourhood. From Hostel only 20 minutes to go to any places (Orchard, etc) the bus is better that MRT because the bus stop just right in front of your door step.

Liked: Chris, the man who runs this hostel, was so nice and helpful and funny and kind. The atmosphere at fern loft was warm. Bathrooms ok, clean. I always would go back again.

Disliked: The airconditioner on 16degrees is way to cold...

Liked: It was relatively close to the airport.

Disliked: The hostel was very dirty with ants everywhere and geckos on the walls. I awoke with beetles crawling up my arm. A small child apparently part of the family running it was opening people's bags and saying 'money' while fishing around. The hostel was overbooked and that night I was awoken after midnight by the owner yelling I had to switch to the top bunk because he needed a father and son to sleep in the bottom. Then I learned all three of us, all men, were in the female dorm with two girls, and they weren't happy about it. The AC didn't work well, it was very hot, the toilet didn't flush and thus smelled awful. The taxi to the airport cost more than what they advertised.
