Liked: Knew this property from before.Although they made a mistake in booking I was transferred and assisted very well to a nearby location. Personnel extremely helpful and understanding.Good and simple place, well maintained. Nearby a great supermarket, number of resto's and easy transport and of course the East Coast coast.The pub/bar below a nice meeting place too.Marco

Liked: When I arrived at the hostel, my room was NOT available. They had given it to somebody else and asked me to sleep in the dormitory, which I didn't wanted. They were really good with me, drove me to the next hotel and paid whatever difference there was for that room. I thought that this was a great service from their part. And YES! Mistakes can happen. So, well done, Fernloft Singapore

Liked: Excellent! Didn't find it a "fun place to meet people" because I was on my own mission there and didn't socialise. So full marks all round. Very quiet (good insulation) considering it is upstairs from a bar (that gives an excellent discount for guests by the way!)

Liked: We stayed at this hostel for 2 nights and thought it was great. It has buses that stop right outside the door which take you to the city, raffles etc. and the staff are very helpful in telling you which bus to catch and what to do. We have been to Singapore before but stayed in a different place but are so glad we stayed here as it is near the beach which is a different experience in itself down by the beach are food and drink stalls which are very cheap so you can relax and eat whilst looking out at the ocean. The room was quite small with just a bed and table but it had a fan and air-con and also a alarm clock and adaptor plug which we thought were great. The free breakfast was toast and spreads we particularly liked they had marmite there being from the UK. The hostel always seemed clean and yes there is only 2 bathrooms for the whole of the hostel but the hostel is small and when we needed to shower there was never any-one in them. Also there is a little bar downstairs which is lovely at night it is lit by candles and fairy lights and on your first night you get a free soft drink and every night until 9pm it is 2-4-1 on beers which meant 2 beers for $10, the staff in the bar were also friendly. The hostel is full of useful information about where to go and how to get there and also had a library of books you could read whilst there. Overall we had a great time here and would definately return, but please remember this is an asian country with asian standards which are different to what westerners are used to, we thought it was fine but i'm just saying as some people's reviews have knocked this hostel for this but you have to have an open mind.

Liked: The staff were really helpful, and even though they double booked our room and had to stay in the dorm, they gave us a discount and free drink in the bar to apologise. Quite far away from the centre but really close to the airport and beach. Highly recommended.

Liked: Dave is a really friendly guy and makes you feel welcome, he even personally gave us a lift into town on our first day! The bar/restuarant has a brilliant atmosphere and food, and the hostel is a great place to meet people. Had an ace 4 days there.

Liked: this was the cleanest hostel we've stayed in and the shower was sooo nice!the only problem we had was that there was never anyone around. the only time the people that ran the place were there was when it was being cleaned. otherwise the place was empty, so no one to ask if you have any problems or even for when u want to check out! but overall it was a really good hostel, just bad service.

Liked: very very clean comfortable and homely. Nicely decorated, free breakfast and access to their kitchen and washing machine. Discounted food at their resturant, and free welcome drink. Spacious, homely and comfortable rooms, they could get away with charging a lot more than they do! PLus they had marmie in the pantry for guests to use and after living in China for a year with no marmite than was cooool! lol!
