Overview
The POW is modelled on the many Australian corner pubs/hotels that provide inexpensive accommodation, a variety of cold beer, live music and a casual atmosphere. Located in colorful Little India, Singapore's most "real" area, it is also conveniently close to the major tourist spots and nightlife.
POW - The Hostel:
A small and intimate hostel with simple yet comfortable accommodation in small dorms of 6, 8 or 10 beds, or in private double rooms. With hot showers, bed linen and a light breakfast included, 24 hour access to guests and laundry facilities available, we try to do whatever we can to make your stay enjoyable!
POW - The Pub:
Serving a range of draught and bottled beers, wines, spirits and our very own homemade Sangria, Margaritas, shooters and house specialty cocktails, the Jam Jar... Look out for the special discounts available only to those who stay in the hostel! We also serve a range of Indian and Western food brought in by two of the best local restaurants. With live music every night, sports on the big screen and a relaxing beer garden (complete with outdoor pool table) you'll be comfortable chilling after those long hot days of sightseeing!
Little India:
Thought of as the most "real" and unspoilt area of Singapore, Little India is vibrant, colourful and full of character. Great food can be found at some of the cheapest prices in Singapore and the architecture, from old shop houses to temples and Mosques, is well worth a look - especially considering the lack of heritage in most of modernised Singapore's other areas! With the Little India Arts Belt close by and many shops selling goods and trinkets at reasonable prices (Little India hasn't yet put up prices and become a tourist trap like it's cousin Chinatown!) there is plenty to see and do!
Little India is also within walking distance of Arab Street, The Civic Quarter and other areas of interest. It is also 1 MRT stop from shopping-Mecca Orchard Road (Dhoby Gaut Station), 2 stops from nightlife-hub Clarke Quay, 3 from Chinatown and 5 from Harbourfront, where you can take a quick monorail to Sentosa Island.
