Liked: Close to MRT station, on the line running between the city and airport. Really convenient for a stop over in Singapore. Lovely owner/manager, free internet, clean and comfy beds.

Liked: Definitely not recommended!!!According to the description on the website, this should be a: "Comfortable and stylish hostel living at the most affordable price! 5 star quality hostel! Located right next to Aljunied MRT (subway) within good access to all the local sites, free unlimited broadband, free WiFi, and skype is available.", etc., etc. In reality, the rooms are very small, austere, and not stylish at all - not even 1 star quality! The advertised free breakfast consists of bread, jam, and cornflakes without milk - if you would like to have some milk, you have to buy it from the landlady. During our 4-days stay the WiFi connection (which was far from broadband) broke for 1 whole day, and our complaints in this regard were quite useless. There is a laundry service, but it seems that they do not use sufficient washing powder, so I would not recommend it at all!The most irritating thing was, however, the attitude of our landlady. We are a group of 4 travelers with an average age of 26 years. During our stay she was behaving like a rude and strict leader of an army camp or a high school group, with no signs of politeness or understanding of our needs. She failed to understand that she actually depends on us, the guests, and if she continues this attitude, the hostel will receive even more negative comments of this sort, and this will eventually ruin her business.We have spent many nights in budget hostels all over S-E Asia, in countries including Cambodia, Malaysia, Thailand and Hong Kong, but this was arguably the worst accommodation of all.The only good thing about this hostel is its location, but we are quite sure that you can find much better places than this with similar locations.

Liked: clean bed sheet, nice bed cover, two pillows! Near the MRT station which is great if don't join any tours. The lady of the house in very nice and responsible. Definitely come back!

Liked: Great Location, well manage Hostel, close to train station, easy from airport to get to. Close to restaurant, quite an entertaining night life.

Liked: A cheap, homey option literally steps away from teh subway and about 2 stops to downtown. It's a small place so easy to meet people, and the owner is very sweet. Lockers in dorms, towel provided, free internet and breakfast. Lots of cheap chinese food around. Only drawback is key deposit but owner was flexible about that since I only stayed 1 night and I was able to just leave passport instead of a depsoit.

Liked: The location, despite not being more central, is actually really great. It's super close to the MRT and the neighborhood is filled with stellar food options, even late at night. A few weird quirks, like lights and A/C off in the common areas at midnight seem a little harsh on the traveler community. The shared bathrooms are maintained daily, but still suffer from heavy use. It doesn't really feel like a hostel, more like staying in someone's apartment, but it's forgivable. The community space is small, and it can be hard to hang out there. That being said, the wifi is fast and the big tv has plenty of movie choices. Lockers in the rooms. Sky Orchids and Empire Hostel are owned by the same people — DON'T stay at Empire, it's very poorly put together for the same cost.

Liked: Hostel was exactly as described on the website. Very convenient as it is literally beside the Aljuned MRT station, and there are a lot of cheap restaurants outside. This is probably the best valued place to stay in Singapore! Internet and breakfast is free. Will definitely be staying here on my next trip to Singapore - hope that there's cable TV by then!

Liked: When i looked at the front of this hostel, i felt not good at first.but after i talked to Kay(lovely host) and new friends there , u would love it.tidy? yes. crowded? yes but full of warmnessMust go and stay on this hostel.....Strong recommend.

Liked: Very messy place. More an attempt to transform a small appartement with max amount of rooms than real hostel. From the bedrooms to the common room to the bathrooms and kitchen al very (too) small spaces.
