Liked: 5 star hoste, rooms and facilities are immaculate, The owner and wife treat you like one of the family, or if you choose, give you the space required, A very good location for the city, out of the front gate, Left, left on the corner and you are on the main drag to town. Liked: Very friendly and welcoming host - he even personally drove us to the bus station!

Disliked: The room did not have air conditioning as advertised; only a fan. About 15 minutes walk from the city centre.

Liked: One of the most welcoming and friendly hosts I've met on my travels. A lovely place to drop in for a chat and sit in the garden drinking Rakija (or coffee if it's a bit too early). We actually didn't stay in the hostel, as it's very close to a hospital and someone needed the room more than us, but it wasn't a problem as we got to stay in a big apartment nearer the centre for the same price. But we still enjoyed popping in for a chat with the very interesting host and other guests. I'd have no hesitation in booking here again.

Disliked: It's maybe a little hard to find the first time and a little out of the centre, but it's just a cheap bus ride and it's close to the skull tower which is one of the main tourist attractions.

Liked: A family run hostel where you are encouraged to feel at home as much as possible. The host family are equally happy to give you your own space, or sit chatting over tea in the garden. Serba even gave me a lift to the station after I'd asked him to phone me a taxi, and let me sample some of the juiciest home grown fruit I've ever tasted! It's a shame Nis is a little off the tourist radar as this level of hospitality is something everybody should encounter! Well worth a stop for a couple of days relaxation to break up a hectic tour of the bigger cities.

Liked: Absolutely amazing hostel, it's like staying in a hotel but with a better atmosphere, friendlier people and in a great location. The host family are absolutely lovely, we were even given a loft to the train station on the day we left (including taking us into the station to help is get on the right train - very handy considering our limited Serbian language abilities!). It is a slight walk from the city centre (but definitely doable and shouldn't take you more than 5 to 10 minutes. A taxi ride from the train station should cost you no more than 4 or 5 euros) but definitely not long enough to deter anyone from this place - in any case it is probably in a better position than any downtown hostel given it's proximity to skull tower and the old roman ruins down the road. I cannot recommend this place enough, and if you're considering a visit to nis then do it - it's a very chilled out place packed with great sites. One of the best - if not the best - hostels in Europe, without a doubt and is a must if you are doing a trip through eastern Europe as we were.

Disliked: Everywhere else we will stay is going to seem terrible in comparison.

Liked: Serba is a really great host. Upgraded me for free to a smaller room because no-one else was there!

Disliked: Bit of a walk to the centre of Nis, but not so far as to be difficult.

Liked: Believe me, this is teh BEST hostel i´ve ever been. Awesome owners, awesome place and atmosphere! I strongly believe that this is the perfect place to stay in Nis!
