Location Information

Kiki and Smoki Hostel is located in the geographical, historical and social center of Belgrade. Our closest neighborhood is the calm oasis, surrounded by cafes, bakeries, restaurants, museums, galleries and small shops – our street is one of the quiet few encircled by Belgrade’s vibrant social life.

To the right, just 100m away, our street runs into Kalemegdan Park, one of Belgrade’s greatest treasures. The open park is cited above the place where river Sava runs into Danube, being one of Belgrade’s most beautiful viewpoints. The XIX century park is built around the fortress, which itself is a mosaic of various cultures, affected by many different influences through history - layers and marks stretching from modern to ancient times. Kalemegdan Park hosts museums, galleries, churches, cafes, restaurants, planetarium and a zoo, but offers itself as well as a place of relaxation and leisure, with many quiet spaces and intimate corners.
To the left, less than 50m away, is The Gallery of Frescoes, a part of The National Museum which presents copies of medieval Serbian frescoes and sculptures. 50m further is The Bajrakli Mosque, a practicing one, dating from XVI century, being one of the oldest buildings in Belgrade. At the other end of our street is Skadarlija, XIX century bohemian quarter, still live and colorful.

Kafana is a traditional way of enjoying social life, somewhere in between a cafe and a restaurant. Some of finest kafanas are very close by.
Our neighborhood is dotted with diversity in cafe culture. Across the street from the hostel is a perfect place for a morning coffee, afternoon siesta or for a drink on the end of the day.
Few bakeries in the radius of 300m offer some of the best versions of pastry delights that this region can offer.
Our neighborhood offers a variety of restaurants and places with food to go, some of which are exceptional representatives of Belgrade’s kitchens, ranging from local, regional to ethnic and international menus. The prices stretch from low end to the middle part of local price scale.

Two streets away is one of Belgrade’s most popular bohemian streets - Strahinjica Bana street. It is popular throughout the day, climaxing in the evening, when crowds gather in cafes, bars, pubs and restaurants - a place to see, enjoy and be seen.
Few streets in other direction is the main pedestrian zone - Knez Mihailova Street - dynamic promenade filled with shops. At one its end is Kalemegdan Park, and on the other is The Republic Square with The National Museum and The National Theater. The Republic Square is considered by locals as the heart of Belgrade’s center.

In the wider neighborhood one can find different attractions - from visiting and exploring market places and museums, churches and shops, to jumping into dynamic night life, to enjoying strolling or biking on long river banks, to plain wandering through Belgrade’s characteristic everyday life... all in 20 minutes walking distance!
