Liked: Not quite sure why it was ranked as best in Belgrade, but over all, a very pleasant stay, in a nice location. The dorms were nice, large, and comfortable (they could have done with some chairs in there!) and I liked that the hostel was small, and quite homely/cosy, and all the staff were very friendly and helpful. I was also glad the place was heated, not like some of the hostels I had stayed in Eastern Europe. However, I would stay here again without thinking twice, and recommend it to any one else.

Disliked: There was nothing wrong the place, apart from some nit-picking issues: I noticed the cleaning was hit-and-miss a couple of times, which is surprising as the hostel was not busy, and the hostel was small: The bathroom didn't look like it was cleaned every day, NO ONE would check to see how much toilet paper there was throughout the day, No one seemed to clean the floor in my room, or check the bin in there during my stay. Just minor cleaning issues, which can be resolved easily, and these issues would not put me off staying there again. Just minor issues. While I appreciated the free breakfast, but it really was so basic, and bland that it wasn't worth eating. Having more than 1 choice of cereal and jam would be nice. I do wonder what the noise from the lounge will be like when the summer arrives, I would imagine quite noisy.

Liked: Absolutely great staff, very friendly. Location is good and the common room and kitchen are huge for a hostel. Will hopefully stay here again when I go back to Belgrade.

Disliked: If I really have to name something; maybe the curtains could have been better, didn't block all the lights. But do not let this minor glitch hold you from going there cause it's great.

Liked: Located only 3 mins ago from the main pedestrian street of Belgrade and the fortress. It is very clean and tidy and all the rooms are nicely decorated. Staff is amazing and is trying to make u feel comfortable. They were offering breakfast and coffee, and they were trying to make you feel like home.

Liked: Really great time here, beautiful quirky artistic decor and incredible staff, relaxed, friendly and ready to help with anything from where to find the best clubs to how to read the Cyrillic alphabet. Really felt like we were staying among close friends rather than just interacting with staff. Location was convenient and not too many stairs involved! ;)

Disliked: only criticism of this hostel is a few policies which seem a little pennypinching. It is a massive €10 to stay in the hostel after check-in and we really felt for the guys who got in off their night train and came in the morning, and were gi.ven a choice of paying €5 to stay in the hostel until checkin or leave and come back at noon. Its more the principle than the money really, something you might expect from a run of the mill cheap and impersonal hostel, but not one of the more expensive and highly rated hostels in brlgrade. Admittedly perhaps it was the contrast of the hostel being one of the new breed of relaxed and caring variety and this seemingly stingy and inflexible rules. Aside from this small disappointment Hostelche is pretty much an ideal hostel.

Liked: Jelena and girl who I met in the morning are such a helpful staff. They are great and awesome. Thanks a lot. They make easy everything there. Me and my mum stayed in the private double room and it was comfortable, fantastic decoration... Hostelce and girls there are my best hostel and staff.
