This small friendly 4 star hostel has recently been upgraded during 2006. Although now privately run, it is also affiliated to the SYHA. Member of VisitScotland (Scottish Tourist Board - 4 Stars). Set in the small scenic village of Helmsdale, halfway between Inverness and John o'Groats.

The hostel is situated on the corner of the A9 and Old Caithness Road (park in Rockview Place).
Arriving by bus:
Walk up the slope for 100 metres. The Youth Hostel is after the old church on your left. (200 metres)
Arriving by train:
Cross over the old bridge; turn right along Dunrobin Street, then left up Stafford Street. Youth Hostel is at the top of the slope on the left (half a mile).
Train timetables (the railway line runs from Inverness up through Golspie, Brora, Helmsdale and then on to Wick and Thurso).
