Liked: overall a welcoming place with friendly staff and a good atmosphere in the bar at night. Good location for access to the hills in the region. Its fairly cheap. The food in the pub is typical "pub grub" but is quite edible and good value.

Disliked: The backpackers lodge was in poor condition. The kitchen / lounge / bathroom facilities compared poorly to other hostels in the region. There is a lingering damp smell in the bedrooms. It is adequate in that it provides a clean bed but not for the faint hearted.

Liked: Almost no noise at all, huge kitchen, great fresh and clean room, what else?

Disliked: Few attractions around, gotta have a car to go around...

Liked: Very cheap and nice stay. The staff is really the best.

Disliked: Bad location. Roy bridge town has really bad (and rare) bus & rail connections.

Liked: Location is ideal for hill walking. It is very basic as is the bar in the hotel. That said, it was clean and the staff were very friendly.

Liked: The staff at the hotel and pub were very friendly and helpful and made me feel welcome. Because it has a pub and is not just a hostel, I had the chance to meet local people as well as other travelers. The setting was beautiful and a convenient starting point for walking trips and was easily accessible by train. Breakfast was great!

Liked: More like a motel, not very clean and shower is not working. Very expensive food at the bar and rooms are very small.
