Liked: Central location, good kitchen facilities and complimentary breakfast.

Disliked: Rude and unpleasant staff member at reception. The hostel held a private party in the lounge area that was loud and kept several people up til the wee hours of the next morning. It also meant hostel dwellers could not hang out in the lounge area.

Liked: good atmosphere and setting. nice staff.

Disliked: no secure lockers or other significant in room security for baggage or valuables. even small safes would be a welcome addition.

Liked: I liked the room, it was very nice, clean and seemed recently refurbished. Also the kitchen was very equiped and well organized. The staff was really nice and friendly. Internet access worked perfectly and it was for free.

Disliked: The living room looked a bit old and not that clean.

Liked: we arrived at 10:30 pm. a girl called jane in the reception is very friendly and helpful. she gave us room cards with our beds names on it, and when we went to a fish&chips shop to grab some eat, the guy saw our room cards gave us 10% discount.

Liked: Great location, helpful staff. Room was upgraded to a private with own tv and sink in room. Quiet and relaxing stay.

Disliked: Was a bit quiet, but travelling in winter, this is to be expected. It looks like they have heaps of activities organised for the summer, so I would definately come back then.

Liked: I mostly liked the walk in the evening with the owner to see the sunset. He just came in and asked, who would like to go for a walk to Cannon-hill. We had a great walk through the wood and up the hill, while he told us about the history and the surrounding of the area of Oban. I enjoied it very much! If I could I would come regularely to Oban , I`ld stay definitely at this Hostel and I would take part on the offered tours. Pitty,that I haven`t got more holidaies. Thanks again for this evening. By the way, Ebereschen (the trees with the red berries for the birds) are growing on the marketplace as well as outside Oban towards the castle and further beside the street.

Liked: Central location, really friendly people, breakfast in the morning was awesome.

Disliked: showers were great but all closed in - no ventilation. Such a small thing but annoying at the time!
