Liked: Staff very friendly, we had a four bedded room consisting of 2 sets of bunks which were new, room was very clean albeit very basic. Kitchen was also extremely clean and well stocked with equipement. Very close to gills bay for ferry to Orkney

Disliked: Outside could do with a paint

Liked: location, peace, manager Julie, fellow travellers-bikers etc, quiet, ROOM for 4 people-family was fantastic, the biggest room ever on this trip.....

Liked: The room we stayed in was a good size, and was very clean. It even had a table and chairs in which was nice.

Disliked: There was only one shower which was a bit annoying.

Liked: Two women that run it were friendly and helpful and the hostel was clean.

Liked: An old style hostel with lots of rules about when you have to get up, when you can use the shower, and what you have to do. No Internet. No supermarket close. Doesn't open till 5pm to the minute. However it's clean and safe, has kitchen facilities, and it's the only one close to John O'Groats so you won't have choice.

Liked: Nice small hostel in a good location. Very close to the John O'Groats sign! Ideal for Lands End to John O'Groats travellers. Woman on the front dest is for from the most helpful of people. Despite this it was a nice place to stay and would go back.
