Liked: Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Our lock broke on our door and it was fixed by the time we returned that day.

Liked: Great location. Beautiful views, easy walk to Kyle of Lochalsh across the bridge. Bunks were very comfortable, hostel was clean. Maddie, the manager was delightful

Liked: the atmosphere

Disliked: had got private rooms for the same price as we paid for a 10 bed bunk in Glasgow city centre.

Liked: The location is breathtakingly beautiful. The atmosphere is that of a real youth hostel for backpackers (young, fun, friendly). The hostel was clean and well-kept, the staff were friendly. The caravan option is very cheap and in the end we slept quite well (of course it's not the most comfortable, but you have the possibility of choosing a room inside the building for a few extra pounds). The other guests were not too noisy and respected other people's sleep.

Disliked: Going over the Skye Bridge is not always easy (you are dependent on the buses and they are quite expensive). It takes 45 minutes to walk to Kyle of Lochalsh where most of the shops/banks, etc, are located. Otherwise, the location is amazing.

Liked: The private room, the fact of only have one more room in our floor. The scenic view to the sea. Very friendly staff

Liked: Location.

Disliked: We came at 16:30 and it was women in the reception but she refused to check us in before 17:00. In the room it is no a place where one can hang the wet clothes ( and it rains every day on Skye ). A small double room with a common bathroom and toilet has costed 44 pounds at 21.06. what I think is overpriced. They just try to make as much money as possible also with people in cabins.

Liked: Great place to stay, really helpful and genuine advice to visit the Isle. The caravan was clean, silent, perfect!

Disliked: I don't see much negative things to say!

Liked: Clean, cheerful spot, happy staff who were very helpful, and a lovely location in beautiful (though tiny) Kyleakin. Utterly restful and pleasant. Quirky "caravan" option (revamped camper vans in the back) were a little chilly, but perfectly functional, private and pleasantly empty - we had a van to ourselves.

Disliked: The showers and the main bathrooms are inside the hostel proper, so staying in the caravans means a trip inside to bathe. Not really an obstacle, however, considering how wonderful the rest of it was.

Liked: Friendly staff, really good character and atmosphere!

Disliked: In the caravan the noise can be quite disturbing if you have a lot of neighbours, you'd better go for shower and breakfast early or really late to avoid the over crowded time! But otherwise, good value for the money, and friendly place! I would go back there!

Liked: Try it for yourself. It's great!

Disliked: Skye is a difficult island to get around if you don't have a car. Be prepared to hassle with the buses. Luckily the staff can help with that. The bars are close enough but it's quite a trip to the supermarket.

Disliked: The location is good, but travelling by bus can be a bit long; if you don't have a car, you better be planning your excursions a little bit

Disliked: humidity and cold during the night in the caravan (maybe a thicker blanket would be better)

Liked: the fireplace and free tea were nice. big lovely kitchen. that's about it though. the rest of it was a drag.

Disliked: if you are looking for sleep this is not the place. i went to bed at 1am midweek and was woken up all night by drunk people come home from saucy marys. i am not exaggerating. then around 8am cell phones and loud voices were everywhere. earplugs didn't matter. the bed i was sleeping in was fastened to the wall which was also attached to the front entryway. so it shook everytime anyone entered or left. when i finally resigned myself to the fact i would be getting only 3 hours sleep i got up and went to the bathroom and found a large unflushed number 2 waiting to greet me. this is when i decided to take an early train back to glasgow. i am a touring musician and i have found more rest staying with bands we have played and partied with than i found at skye backpackers.

Liked: I loved the view and nearness of the Skye bridge. The staff is adorable, they are so helpful and open. And you can rent welly´s. Also opportunity to make your own food is great. I loved it!

Disliked: I stayed at the caravan, well my bad to choose the cheapest bed. But the door did not work and it was rather cold there.

Liked: Great staff, really nice attitude and atmosphere. The location is perfect, just after the bridge from Kyle of Lochalsh, easy to find and a magnificent view. And despite the drawbacks we had a great stay, and would gladly come back.

Disliked: Our room was a bit damp and rank, and the door wouldn't lock at all - you could hardly close it. It's clearly seen better days, doors to the toilets almost fell off when trying to close them and everything was a bit scruffy.

Liked: the Loch view

Disliked: Very bad and mouldy shower facilities (the start/stop button didn't work in 2 cubicles), the room and corridors haven't been vacuumed for ages, filthy, over priced for double and twin rooms.
