Liked: The common room was great -- lots of games (in useable condition), a dart board, a guitar, etc, with a great view of the river. It is big enough to fit many people but still feel cozy and friendly. The rooms are very nice; we were lucky enough to get a room with a view of the river, too. They are very spacious (no cramped "fit as many bunks as possible" mentality). It is really just a few minutes into the town center and transportation. There is also quick access to less urban areas like the loch ness islands. The castle is down the street. If you are there on a sunday do not miss the indian restaurant (Cinnamon's) buffet, which is absolutely delicious. It is indicated on the free map you can get at the hostel.

Disliked: There are very few showers, and of those, one had no light, one was broken, and most of the rest only ran cold water when we tried using them. The bathrooms were fine though.

Liked: A wonderful atmosphere in an old building, full of character but with all the modern facilities you could need. Kitchen is a good size, very clean and well equipped and a good breakfast is offered for a small charge. Free coffee, tea, hot choc and milk always available. Bike shed and own car park too. Nice lounge areas and dining table to meet fellow travellers and chill out, room was light and airy with plenty of space. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly, very near the city centre and station. Couldn't have asked for more. Would strongly recommend this place unless you want a massive night out (inverness isn;t really a massive party town anyway) as the doors shut at 2.30am. This meant it was nice and quiet for a good sleep after cycling round the highlands.

Disliked: The showers were the main slight inconvenience of the stay in that they had no separate area for dressing or to put things, you had to put on a tshirt on and towel round your waste and dress discretely in the room or hope others weren't there. However this was a minor problem in an overall super hostel

Liked: Good hostel in a really beautiful and lively town..Inverness is just perfect,the lovely riverside,good pubs and the main hub of the Highlands,so if you wanna get away from it all,in one hour bus u will be already in the loneliness and dramatic beauty of the northern Scotland.The hostel has a really good location and is kinda perfect place for backpackers...

Liked: Very central location, the staff were very friendly and helpful, a nice clean kitchen to cook in, sofas to sit at, and a cheap breakfast in the morning.

Disliked: There was some loud music on one of the nights coming from the reception area, which I believe was being placed by a staff member.
