Inverness, capital of the Highlands, is set amongst some of Scotland's most fascinating attractions. The bustling town centre soon gives way to lochs, hills, forests and glens.
Visit the beautiful ancient pine forest of Glen Affric, tranquil and deeply historic Culloden Battlefield, the 4,000 year old standing stones at Clava Cairns, take a stroll down to the river bank and take the Ness Island trail, head to the waterfront to try and catch a glimpse of the wild dolphins that frequent the nearby Moray Firth or head to Loch Ness to try your luck at Nessie spotting - just don't forget your camera and if you do see Nessie, don’t forget to mention that you’re staying with us when you talk to the press!
If outdoor activities and adrenalin rush are more your thing, Inverness and the surrounding area do not disappoint! There are endless cycling and walking routes that suit all abilities and you can either start of finish the Great Glen Way just 100m from our front door. Other activities on offer in the surrounding area include archery, sea kayaking, canoeing, mountain biking, hill walking, climbing, abseiling, gorge walking, whitewater sledging, Segways and WoW Balls. If keeping busy’s more you’re style then that should be enough to whet your appetite!
Inverness is a small-sized city that has plenty going on. You can visit museums, go to the theatre, catch a live band at the Ironworks, wander around the shops, discover hidden gems such as Leakey’s Bookshop & the Victorian market and party ‘Highland Style’ at the brilliant Hootananny Ceilidh bar. There is live music most nights in this lively city and lots of cafes, restaurants & pubs to choose from. What better place to try the beers from the local Black Isle brewery or sample a dram or 2 of local malt whisky!
