Liked: It was an amazing building, in a good location- not downtown but not too far out. I liked that it was between downtown and the beautiful west end. I was amazed at the unbelievable friendliness of the staff. I don't think I have stayed anywhere else where the staff was that friendly or helpful.

Disliked: I found the building a bit run down. But the owner was talking about improvements to be made so it's not being neglected. It could be improved drastically if some construction was done and some better organization in the kitchen.

Liked: The staff was very friendly and so it was a very familiar atmosphere.

Disliked: the editional VAT should be explained more clearly!!!! So we had to pay 3 Pound more per person per night!

Disliked: very dirty, not safe and secure. for come at your room you should come by an other room. shower really very dirty. breakfast just toast and coffee.

Disliked: The location is not too good. The hostel is small and the rooms have no courtains so there is too much light. Also its quite noisy so if you´re looking for some place quiet I won´t recommend this hostel

Liked: This is a clean safe hostel at a very reasonable price close to Kelvin Grove Park, bus lines, and a subway station. The rate includes a breakfast. Staff are friendly, helpful and courteous. rooms are secure and have extras including cupboards and sinks with towels. Your own key gives you access at any time day and night without a curfew. Several pubs are located within 50 m which serve reasonably priced meals and have free live entertainment. I highly recommend this hostel as the best value for money in Glasgow.

Disliked: I was in a Trainspotting Room in the basement. It was damp with a musty smell and little direct sunlight. The shower did not work so we had to share with the first floor.

Liked: Great Place. Its operated by some cool people, was the only hostel that had computers with free internet that I found in scotland.

Liked: It was OK. Beds were very comfortable! But they seriously need to fix the slamming door in the bedroom. I didn´t particularly enjoy my time here.

Liked: The place needs a little TLC. The staff is cool and the location is great. I know that they were in the middle of some renovations, so hopefully it will come out looking a little nicer!

Liked: Friendly staffNot so bad locationI wouldn't recommend this hostel for people who just want to sleep there, because the other people are quite noisy and there is loud music from 7am to 2am.

Liked: We had booked a 6 bed dorm but, when we arrived, we found out we’d been moved to a 10 bed dorm. We would have booked a different hostel if we had known we would be in a 10 bed dorm. They also charged us VAT on arrival so we actually got charged £16.50 instead of £14 per night. The staff were friendly but not particularly helpful. The hostel is really run down, bits of wood lying around, walls not finished etc. The beds were not great and the room was really hot because the window didn’t open. It was clean though and there was a pretty good atmosphere in the kitchen/reception area. I wouldn’t stay here again - I’m sure there are other hostels in Glasgow that are just as cheap and much nicer.

Liked: Location outside of City Centre but easily available by train (one station from city Centre). Stuff Members very helpful. Whole house was very old. (two showers, 3 Toiletts, paint crumbled from the wall, flours was dirty, sticky room - because you were not allowed to open windows). Breakfast was OK (jam was mouldy)But anyway. It was unbelieveable cheep, showers were hot, free Internet, we had a Bed, can bring our own foods for cooking and breakfast (Tesco 3min away) .... for us it was the best decision (for one Night :D )

Liked: Place was pretty run down but average all round. They charge you extra when you first arrive which is a real shock. Seemed pretty dodgy. Turned out to be very expensive because of that.

Liked: This hostel is a true hostel, a travellers hostel. Not just a hotel where you get a bed and tips for your trip from the staff. The staff makes your stay pleasant. Tod, the owner is awesome! Even took us for some drinks on a tuesday. 7min walk from the main night and shopping street. I really enjoyed my stay there. Becareful don't go to the hostel in front by mistake. It's full of junkies and I saw the police going there 3 times in one day. I definitely recommend!

Liked: Did not appeciate: on hostelbookers prices are without VAT. On arrival, they asked me to add to the printed price, the VAT.This hostel needs to be totally rebuilt. Really old and dangerous.Staff really friendly and pleased to help!
