The Rennie Mackintosh Museum is in the same street and Glasgow University, the Botanic Gardens, and the Transport, Hunterian and Kelvingrove museums and galleries are all within minutes walking distance as are the delights of Byres Road, Ashton Lane and many of Glasgow’s best pubs and restaurants.
The proximity of Glasgow University gives the area a cosmopolitan feel; its student population guarantees a tremendous variety of value foodstops (you can dine for as little as £1). Cheaper still, cook your own in Bunkum’s fully equipped self-catering (guests only) kitchen - and wash it down with free tea and coffee. Let's Go Thumbs-up award winner and STB 2 star graded.
Hillhead Street is flanked at one end by the magnificent, historic Glasgow University and at the other end by Great Western Road, the main tourist road to Loch Lomond and the North West (including destinations such as Oban, Glencoe, Fort William, Loch Ness and Skye).
The whole area is populated with many of Glasgow's best pubs, cafes and restaurants - where student prices are the norm as well as most of the main city museums and galleries (The Hunterian Gallery and the Charles Rennie MacKintosh House are actually in the same street as Bunkum); the good news for visitors is that admission to Glasgow City Galleries and Museums is Free. The area is the 'greenest' part of the city and the tropical hot-houses of the city Botanic Gardens and the less tropical Kelvingrove Park are only a couple of minutes away.

For Glaswegians and locals the cosmopolitan West End of the city, recognised as the heart of young Glasgow, is definitely the best end of the city; it has its own festival in June every year. With Glasgow University right on the door step the area has its very own unique ambience yet it is only one mile from the noise and bustle of the city centre (and the best 'shopping' in the UK outside of London).
So, What are you waiting for? Come & Stay at BUNKUM!
We look forward to serving you!
