Liked: The location was good, it was close to good bars and clubs, and very close to the subway to city centre plus there was a grocery store right across the street!

Disliked: The carpets were dirty, the garbages were all full, the Kitchen did not have a oven, the ceiling was dripping, our room did not have an ensuite as advertised, and some of the staff were less than helpful!

Liked: The rooms was clean and the bed was so comfy. The staffs I met were really helpful. There are many leaflets in the hall way that can guide you around.

Disliked: The wireless network was hard to connect and not stable.

Liked: I had never stayed in a hostel before and was kind of nervous, but this facility was amazing! The staff was SO friendly and so helpful, they were wonderful! I was in a private 2 person room and it was perfect for what we needed. The bathroom was really nice, as was the beds/bedding. The location of the hostel is excellent. It is a few blocks from a Tube station and next to the heart of Glasgow; everything in Glasgow we wanted to do was in reach either by walking or the Tube station nearby. The facility was also extremely safe; the front door was always locked and you couldn't get in unless you had a key, and there were security cameras everywhere. There was a full kitchen (minus an oven) to use, and they provided bread and cereal for breakfast. There was also a large common room that had tables and games for people to use and a computer with free internet access which was very useful. Overall I had an AMAZING weekend, and Westend Backpackers in Glasgow made my stay there even more extraordinary.

Disliked: I honestly didn't dislike anything! I had an amazing time at this hostel.

Liked: The dorms were clean. i lived in an on-suit dorm which is good. staff was friendly but the price is comparatively higher especially on weekends.

Liked: I loved the little seating area outside at the front. My girlfriend and I just sat there in the sunlight, eating cherries. It was perfect, but it might have been because I'm in love ^ ^

Liked: Excellent value for money and very friendly and helpful staff! I would recommend this hostel to anyone wanting to stay in Glasgow but without all the fuss and expense of a hotel.

Liked: Rooms was quite small and shower didn´t work like it should be. Beds made noing sounds. Staff were very kind and helpfull. If you want to sleep cheaply I would recommend this but if you want to sleep well, this isn´t probaly the best place for that..

Liked: It's fairly standard in every way. The 6 bed dorm with ensuite is insanely cramped and there really isn't room for all your stuff so I wouldn't want to stay there more than 1 night. 2 max. Free internet computer and wi-fi is a bonus. Breakfast is just cornflakes and bread (or toast) and coffee, but at least you can help yourself. It's in a pretty cool area, explore the streets parallel and also go down Great Western Road and go down Byres Rd, there's tons of cool little vintage and nic-nak shops.

Liked: Good value for money, especially breakfast. Well situated. Cooking facilities meant we had extra money to enjoy even more interesting visits on this school trip. I have a little suggestion :- close the hostel for a couple of weeks at a quiet time. Offer free accommodation to a group of students in exchange for a good clean-out, a few dabs of paint, the decoration of the patio and add a few packs of cards, dominos etc. This place could, with very little effort, be a little palace!!!!!

Liked: I've stayed in many different hostels all over the world. Whilst Westend Backpackers is a small and basic hostel, the staff are very friendly, helpful and the place also has a great atmosphere. The hostel is also spotlessly clean and well organised. If you're looking for a basic hostel, with good vaule for money but without any 'frill's then look no further.

Liked: Very very good value for money, really near to subway and a short walk into town, and very easy to get to kelvingrove museum and gallery as well as glasgow uni. Came for the Glasgow international festival of visual arts and was perfect for our stay. Close to quite a few restuarants so that you don't have to go all the way into town.
