Liked: I loved the location, very good value for money situated in a lovely area. Also the building the hostel is in is amazingly beautiful, a very characterful building indeed! The lunge facility was good; nice and quiet to relax in after a hectic day. Also, the staff were always very friendly, chatty and always there to help you, for instance I got offered maps on arrival.

Disliked: The only thing I'd say is that I had a terrible sleep, however this is NO FAULT of the hostel, I was simply placed in a room with someone who had very bad snoring problems, apart from that one person though the rest of my room-mates were kind, interesting to talk to and very welcoming. I really felt like I made some friends afterwards.

Liked: Really nice building, close to the park and museum. Not far to the shops. Nice big lounge and kitchen.

Disliked: For the price, they could have included free wifi. Almost every hostel I've been too has free wifi and they are usually cheaper. I choose to stay here because this was the only available hostel that had lockers, otherwise I would have gone somewhere else.

Liked: In a beautiful victorian neighbourhood, staff was very helpdfull, clean.

Disliked: Too big, it didn't feel like a hostel, more like a big hotel with dorms. So, good if you just wan't a clean and quiet place to stay, but not so good if you wan't a fun hostel where you van meet other travellers.

Liked: The laundry facilities were excellent, particularly the hot room that allowed clothes to dry very quickly. The staff were all very helful and friendly. The bedrooms and ensuite were clean and they provided clean linen and towels. The hostel is in a beautiful tree-lined street right beside the park. If you are looking for a quiet and peaceful hostel then it was great.

Disliked: There was no problem with the property itself, just the directions to get there. The directions instructed me to follow the signs from the bus stop. The only problem is there is no sign (or none that I could see) at the actual bus stop. Once you start walking there are plenty of signs that lead you there very easily, but I had to ask someone the way to start the walk. If travelling alone at night it might be a bit undesirable to have to walk all the way from the bus stop alone as it is very quiet with not much passing traffic.

Liked: left luggage was a helpful service as i stayed here twice

Disliked: bathrooms in the rooms were loud and unprivate. lots of loud children running around all night as there were several school camp groups at the same time.

Liked: Clean and friendly staff.

Disliked: Not a great place to meet people if you are traveling alone. Most people were 35+ that I saw which makes you think why they can call this place a youth hostel.

Liked: Nice rooms, great kitchen, good showers and accessible internet in the common area.

Disliked: Wifi cost money, location is a bit of a walk from the major town attractions, most others were not backpackers (school groups, groups of older people, etc.)

Liked: The environment and the building are excellent. Very quite and comfortable, with many high value properties nearby, though a bit far away from the city center (20 mins walk). James was very friendly and helpful.

Disliked: Better with free wi-fi access.

Liked: The rooms are clean and comfortable. The common places are very big with the services you need.

Disliked: It's not so near to the city center (15-20 minutes by walk). The atmosphere in very cold, probably because in the period I went (middle March) there were a few people. Since I booked for 3 nights but I decided to remain just 2, the staff forced me to pay anyway the 3rd night. To access the internet (even if with your device) you have to pay 1 pound/hour.

Liked: I hated this place, it was the worst hostel I stayed in.

Disliked: Its located atop a hill so if you don't come by cab you have to haul your luggage up. The receptionist was silly he said there only a few stairs but I had to carry my heavy suitcase almost 80-90 steps uo to the third floor and there is no elevator. Although its called a youth hostel but many old people live here. The shower did not have a door just a screen so you basically are separated just by a screen from 7 other people while showering. If your sleeping you can hear other people showering and you can't sleep and they have very creaky beds. Whats even worse is the wash basin are inside the room right next to beds, so for certain you will be waken up by someone brushing their teeth if not by someone showering. The internet was not free and neither the breakfast included so its more like a hotel instead of hostel a damn expensive deal. Staying in London was cheaper, so better not choose this place.

Liked: THE HOSTEL were clean and comfartable. Bathrom was inside the room, this is other good thing about the hostel. kitchen was big and it has big fridge. When we arrived to glasgow we weren't finding the hostel almost 2 hours. It was diffucult to find 44 bus stop in there for us but when we arrived the hostel we found helpfull staff and good armosphere. Room was warm enough, there were clean duvet case, sheeet and pillow case. If u go to glasgow u should stay in youth hostel.

Disliked: Finding to hostel was diffucult.

Liked: The staff was really helpful. Building had a lot of character. Large common room.

Disliked: A good amount of the other guest were strange older men. Not sure what that was about. The property was in a good neighborhood but its not really within walking distance of any attractions. The comforters on the bed were really annoying. They sound like crumpled plastic bags.
