Liked: The dorms were very nice, the architecture beautiful and the lounge and kitchen spacious. Plus, tons of bathrooms, so there's a fair amount of privacy.

Disliked: There was no sense of community and the staff didn't have much nightlife suggestions beyond pubs. Also, you had to pay for internet, luggage storage and lockers, which seemed stingy.

Liked: It's in a perfect location, and the staff were much more friendly and accomodating than I am accustomed to. The beds are long enough for a tall person, which can be an issue in steel framed bunks.

Disliked: There is nothing I disliked particularly about the property. I might be mistaken but I think there is no laundry facility (although there is a drying room), so I gave a slightly lower rating in this department.

Liked: Very pretty property. The rooms were set up nice and it had an en suite bathroom.

Disliked: It was at the top of a big hill which was rough on my walk up at night, but other than that I had no problems with it!

Liked: it was one of the more expensive hostels on my trip and it charged the most for simple things - for example, the only one so far that has charged for wifi use with personal notebook

Liked: Great location very close to Kelvingrove Park & Museum, the University etc, but easy enough walking distance from the city centre. Helpful staff, clean room and decent shower and kitchen facilities. Good-sized security lockers in my dorm (bring your own padlock or buy one at reception). Not really a 'party hostel'.

Liked: Glasgow Youth Hostel is a very spacious hostel, esp. the lounge room. The staff are very friendly and helpful, everything looks clean and tidy, a place to trust, I'd say. Unfortunately, they had only two lockers in a bedroom for six people. And they charge you with one pound for one hour of internet use, which was slightly annoying. Nevertheless, this was the nicest hostel I ever stayed at so far...

Liked: It's absolutely a fantastic hostel,tidy,cozy,welcoming though it's a bit far from the city center,some 30min walk from the bus station.big lundge and TV room available. I enjoyed staying there!

Liked: Friendly and helpful staff, clean place, huge and safe lockers in dorms, good kitchen (very expensive breakfast though), no need to look for something to do in the evening, ideas for a night out written on a white board at the reception.A bit far from the very centre-town. Not such a bad location though because it's close to uni, to the Kelvingrove museum. To go to the centre, just hop on bus 44 or cross Kelvingrove park and catch one of the numerous buses to the centre.

Liked: It's quiet and clean although you might have to queue a bit for bathroom but that's the only small minor thing. The internet is quite cheap. Heating was working pretty well. I would therefore recommend this to other people.
