Disliked: The staff Breakfast served only from 8 am onwards Unhelpful canteen staff, although cooked food was ready to be served even before 8 oclock(I had to catch a tour at 8 in the mornIng), canteen staff just ignored my request.

Liked: The bed was a good size and a good distance from other beds. There was an individual light for the bed, but no socket.

Disliked: There was no communal area. There was a bar, but this was open to outsiders. There was no secure door between the hostel and the bar, so any outsider who came into the bar could easily have got into the hostel. You had to pay for the internet. The basin lights in the room came on automatically whenever anyone went near them, waking everyone up. The floor was very creaky whenever anyone walked on it. The room was very close to the road, so there was a lot of traffic noise. There was even noise from people talking loudly when they walked past. I was asked for my passport number even though I'm from the UK. Thankfully I had my passport, since I'd just flown in from spain, or I wouldn't have been able to get in. Breakfast wasn't included and would have cost a fiver if id paid for it.

Liked: security, but should ensure they always have stocks of padlocks so full use can be made of the lockable cupboards

Disliked: really creaky floor boards and beds, 1st floor vey close to the bar.

Liked: Great hostel, has everything you need and some. Modern facilities throughout, huge bar with comfy sofas to relax in, tidy rooms with two showers and two toilets (seperate) in each dorm. Handy location too.

Disliked: A quiet area to use skype on your laptop would be good

Liked: The bar was great! Cheap food, free wifi and friendly staff. The rooms were clean and spacious. There was lockable lockers in the room (just bring your own lock) and the beds were super comfy. The staff were really helpful when you needed anything and I found the room I was in too noisy so I got moved to a much quieter one and it was no problem.

Disliked: The rooms above the bar can be quite noisy at night due to loud music.

Liked: Very clean and modern, friendly helpful staff who gave good recommendation on where to eat late at night.

Disliked: Advertised DVDs available for rent in rooms and when I asked staff member looked confused and said they didn't have any. Take the signs down then. The toilet paper dispensers are terrible and always break (experienced same dispensers elsewhere in UK). It was a good thing we had wet wipes.

Liked: Very clean and great location. It is more of a hotel kind of feel. But awesome bar bellow with pool tables and cheap drinks.

Disliked: No common room for the hostel where you can just chill out and watch movies etc

Liked: Fantasitc hostel with huge rooms and very comfortable beds. Staff very helpful and friendly. Walking distance to most bars/clubs/shopping. Very clean and well maintained hostel.

Disliked: Nothing!!

Liked: I love Edinburgh so I love everything in this Hostel!

Disliked: There is no free Wi-Fi and it is a bit inconvenience.

Liked: Nice place, very well organized and well-kept.

Disliked: This place does not have a welcoming atmosphere. It is rather cold and pristine. And paying 5 pounds a day for wifi seems a bit ridiculous when most other hostels have it for free.
