Disliked: have to pay for lockers.. only one power point in the room next to the door. bathroom was tiny!

Liked: The location is good, but the building is terribly bad.

Disliked: Dirty and stinking. Odd staff bad showers and toillets

Liked: Location.

Disliked: Bathrooms, showers, lack of luggage room, lack of free wifi which was not specified, lack of ventilation in all areas and the imperative signs displayed EVERYWHERE threatening charges, despite the low standard of cleanliness already displayed at Brodies.

Liked: Everithing was very clean (kitchen, rooms, toilets, showers). The rooms are very big. It is at a perfect location, near of the best sights of Edinburgh.

Disliked: The showers are a little bit small and the Internet acces is expensive.

Liked: Had a private double - big room that used to be a 14 person dorm but the staff had put an extra heater to warm the room up as it was so big. Thumbs up. Free tea and coffee.

Disliked: Brodies have another building across the road which we were in and the washing facilities there aren't too good. Four showers which is OK but only 1 pokey sink and nowhere to put down your stuff. Thankfully it wasn't busy. No sink in the room so the only one you can use is in the shower room or the toilet. Floor boards and bed frames are mega squeeky.

Liked: It's good for one or two nights but maybe not more.

Disliked: Noises coming from the street. People in the room who made lots of noise in the morning.

Disliked: Very noisy doors and heating although as I was very tired I didn´t care that much.

Liked: The location is excellent, but it is a little bit hard to find, it hides in the shops in royal mile. The double room which gave us is big, and the kichen is not bad.

Disliked: When you first visit this hostel, you should go to there by taxi, if not you may be never find it!!!! It is difficult to find.

Liked: Double room had been recently refurbished and was large and beautiful.

Disliked: Booked for two nights but had to swap rooms.

Liked: Double room was clean and cosy, spacious enough, comfy bed, close to showers and toilets, good door locks, great view with window overlooking the Royal Mile.

Disliked: Only downside to the great location and view was the noise through the night of people walking down the High Street all through the early hours. Floor was also very creaky when other guests were going back and forth to the toilets.

Liked: Style of the room the view - Royal Mile in city centre

Disliked: had to pay for WIFI Room was too loud due to single glassed windows and the royal mile Kitchen was closed from 22 p.m. until 7 p.m.

Liked: Clean and orderly -- much less chaotic than hostels usually are. Friendly reception. Location is fantastic.

Disliked: Toilets, sinks and space around them are extremely small.

Liked: Everybody very friendly, staff and guests. Great community. Free hot tea and coffee and use of microwave, oven, stovetop and refrigerator.

Disliked: facilities are a little iffy, but what do you expect? for the price it is certainly certainly worth it and beyond

Liked: 24 hour access (swipe card entry when reception was closed). Free tea and coffee. Excellent instructions for using cookers.

Disliked: Wooden floors, noisy.

Liked: The toilets and showers are clean. The location is very good.

Disliked: The lady staff giving a me a negative remark first thing when I came in at 11pm. There was nobody at the reception then so I pressed the bell. I didn't hear any sounds or saw anybody coming out so I pressed again. I was told off because of that.

Liked: Perfect location ideally placed in the middle of Edinburgh, close to tourist type things, pubs and restaurants

Disliked: Rather noisy at night with lorries and late night drinkers.

Liked: Clean, great location, helpful staff.

Disliked: No free internet or wi-fi - actually quite expensive charges for this, which was irritating. Kitchen in the hostel we were placed was locked at 10pm at night. No safe place for left luggage (just in upstairs hall accessible to all guests).

Liked: Clean, cheap and well located. The staff was really nice.

Disliked: There were two buildings. Ours was double rooms and people were on their own. Perhaps, not the best place to meet people.
