Liked: It was close to everything we were doing.it was comfortable and clean.the room was decent size for us and bathroom and kitchen were great size.

Disliked: nothing really.

Liked: It is very centrally located, it has very helpful and friendly staff members and the rooms are in a very decent state.

Disliked: Due to further commitments, i was only able to stay for 1 night :)

Liked: It was right in the city center, this probably was the only good thing about it. I'd recomend it as long as you don't find anything else..

Disliked: Nobody was at the reception at reception hours. The room wasn't ready by the time we got in there so no body cleaned and we have to wait for the guy to do it. But the worse thing was the state of the bed, bed shits, duvet they were much older than me... a bit disgustin.

Liked: I don't like and I will tell every my countries people don't live there. It is a dirty, unsecure room.

Disliked: the reason is that the bed is too old. people can make noise easily even do nothing and it is not flat. Finially, when I want to find the officer and book the time with him, I cannot find him anywhere. Don't tell me they don't work at 10:30 morning and I already called him to book the time with him. Plus, other foreign friends can crack the door locker easlier and they showed to me this "show". and opened my room successful. Therefore, I have to take my every valueable things and there are too heavy for me. Anyway, City Centre Hostel is not for people to live....

Liked: Location was good! Restroom was adjacent and had a nice tub and shower with lots of hot water.

Disliked: The room was the size of a closet! The room was very cold and the bed very uncomfortable. The office was not open during business hours but had a number to phone posted on the door. We didn't have cell phone so with it cold and rainy we set out to find a phone booth..

Liked: The hostel is ideally situated directly at the Grassmarket, grocery shops, pubs and a lot of tourist attractions like Edinburgh Castle, the National Museum of Scotland and the Royal Mile are in immediate walking distance. There was a good wifi-connection available in our room, which allowed us to do some research and keep ourselves updated throughout our trip.

Disliked: Besides new bed sheets our room didn't seem to have undergone any cleaning after the last check-out. Empty bottles and wrappings were lying under the bed and the drawers were full of dust.

Liked: Cheap. Good location.

Disliked: Not as advertised (not a 2 double bedroom apartment with lounge - was actually a 3 bedroom apartment with no lounge). Dirty. Loud (on main road). No security (no door was locked from public pavement until bedroom door, even then all was needed was key code which presumably doesn't get changed between logdings). No toilet paper. Tried to charge us for free towels. No-one at the desk at check-out.

Liked: The hostel has a very good location as it is very close to Grassmarket and in a short walking distance to Princes Street

Disliked: The cleanliness was ok but not outstanding. There was still a used towel in our room when we arrived and the carpet didnt't look that clean. Even though the bathroom and kitchen were clean.

Liked: Great location in Edinburgh and made the Fringe very accessible. Friendly staff, can't fault this at all.

Disliked: Apartment was OK, not particularly clean. There is no locked door to the apartment building, so anyone can wander in. The apt. front door remained unlocked from the other apartment sharer hence a low rating on security - despite having locks on the bedroom doors, the doors are not particularly sturdy so wouldn't recommend leaving any valuables in room - not that we did. Whilst the location is great, it is particularly noisy - not a thing we disliked about the hostel as hardly their fault - was not expecting noise cancellation for the price we paid. It was described honestly enough on HostelBookers but wouldn't say the word Luxurious is appropriate.

Liked: location was excellent

Disliked: Although I had booked the accommodation almost a whole year ago, they seemed to have lost the booking. We had to check back at the reception every hour for updates on where we would be staying, which completely spoiled our plans. It wasn't ready for our arrival. When we eventually checked in at 5pm we were escorted by hostel staff member who changed bedding in front of us but did not clean or vacuum at all. The shared bathroom facilities were very dirty and needed a good steam clean. The bunk beds had loose fittings and I had to remove the top mattress and put it on the floor because I felt the bed was unsafe.

Liked: Very good central location with very helpful reception staff and a very nice flat. We needed a secure place to leave our stuff while we were at the fringe, and although it was a little pricey for what we got, we were happy with the security.

Disliked: When we checked in at 3pm we were not able to get the keys as the cleaner was still in the room, so had to hang around until she was finished. Although the flat was nice, the stairs leading up the flats were very quite grotty and it was very warm in the bedroom even with the window open. Lastly, it would have been nice to have been able to use the wifi in the flat rather than needing to go down to reception.

Liked: Perfect for 4 people group. We got our own apartment with kitchen and living room. Cooking facilities, tv, washing machine etc. Everything very clean. Stuff was really helpful and taking care of us if needed. Check out lothianbuses.com There's a cheap connection from the airport right next to the hostel. Airlink is also ok, but costs more and involves more walking.

Disliked: Wifi didn't function in our room, but worked well in the office downstairs.

Liked: Great to find something so cheap in the centre of Edinburgh. I was up for the fringe festival and staff were helpful in terms of directing me to where things were and letting us leave our luggage with them on the last day so we could make the most of the day before heading back to London. Accommodation itself is basic, but comfortable bed, good shower and free wifi. If you're going for the festival and need somewhere to lay your head down, this is perfect.

Disliked: Customer left no negative feedback.

Liked: Downtown location and roomy appartments with all basic equipment.

Disliked: Appartments have to be shared (kitchen, toilets, living room). Reception was closed at unexpected times (like on the morning of our check-out).

Liked: Accomodation suitable for longer stay due to the facilities on offer (apartment type accomodation) all for the same price as staying in an ocercrowded hostel - definite value for money! Also, great location!

Disliked: Could not access reception staff at all times. Was ready to check out at 10:00 on our last day but no one was in the office to check us out.

Liked: Location, location, location! In addition to great staff (Thank you, Alan!), the City Centre Apartments offered me everything I wanted and looked for. Clean rooms, just seconds away from the Grassmarket, and staff that really made me smile. Will try and return for the festival. Cheers, Oliver

Liked: Seemed quite nice for the price given the central location. Staff was friendly as well.

Disliked: They might wish to think about dealing with water spillage from the shower too the floor. It creates small puddles.

Liked: I think it`s on great location.

Disliked: When we got into the apartment we realized wi-fi connection isn't available as the HostelBooker site promised. Our room wasn`t ready on time,linen missed. We asked to make it, but later on of the bed wasn`t still ready and we didn`t get towel. After our complain they finished our bed and we got only one towel for two.All beds in the apartment was overused, hard to get sleep in it. The shower didn`t work properly, we had problem with hot water and it took two days to fix it. On our last night we discovered the staff changed our linen. We asked what`s the reason it and they said we shouldn't be there because we need to leave. I warmed them we booked three nights and we going to leave next morning. We are regular travelers in Europe but it was our worst hostel experience so far. We wouldn't recommend for anyone else.
