Liked: Excellent old building in an optimal walking distance from old town.

Disliked: In our room, there was this distinct smell of mold, that was the only bad thing about this place.

Liked: We stayed here and were very impressed with the lovely back garden, felt like you wern't in the city at all. The surrounding area was very safe and peaceful, yet it was within walking distance of the city centre.

Disliked: Nothing!

Liked: I enjoyed th location because it wasn't right next to a bunch of pubs and the walk to downtown was a pleasant one. The Showers are Amazing as well as the two kitchens!!

Liked: Very 'harmonic' , clean place. Location is pretty good, not long walk to city centre.

Disliked: Nothing bad to say. Maybe not the place to 'partypeople' :)

Liked: My first stay in a hostel actually!I was told by the girls from the female dorm i stayed in it's really nice compared to others they stayed in.Clean, friendly staff, nice bathroom with hot water and lockers in dorms.Can't say much about kitchen facilities and that as I only stayed for 3 nights and was out mostly during days.It's a short walk from the centre but if you're carrying a suitcase it might be better to take a bus-41 I think it is.I needed to check out early and there was no problem with getting my key deposit back.Can definitely recommend!

Disliked: Paying for use the computers is not good, even is cheap you're paying for somthing that is free in other hostels!

Liked: I liked our room. It was large and had a nice feel to it. There was a large kitchen downstairs and a comfortable lounge. Everything was clean and tidy and well maintained. The staff were also nice and helpful to us.

Disliked: Is a little far from the centre of town but by no means very far, only a 15-20 minute walk through a lovely park.

Liked: For the prices in Edinburgh, it was one of the cheapest we could find, but not bad at all. Good value for money. Not spotless, but clean enough. The TV on the room was good - something we weren't even waiting for.

Disliked: Walls are not soundproof, so during the night it was possible even to listen to the guys next door throwing up on the bathroom. There was no blind on the window, so, after sunrise, the sun was located directly on our window, making it hard to sleep, and also making the room much hotter.

Liked: According to my opinion and experience, the best hostel I have ever been. Everything OK, very well suited to its rated in hostelbookers.com. Extemely helpful staff and fully equipped kitchen. A building with character, with all a backpacker might need (acustic guitars inclusive!!). I would definitely go back and recommend to other people.

Liked: Very close to the Meadows Park and a short walk to the Old Town. The staff couldn't be more friendly and willing to help in any way. The showers varied throughout the hostel but there was always a shower free when I needed one.
