Liked: The place, location, facilities, services, safety, price, neighborhood.

Disliked: I little far of city centre but I like it, and the neighborhood too it has an excellent location.

Liked: Does exactly what it says on the tin - no unexpected unwelcome surprises - reasonable, and convenient for uni and town. Staff were happy to give me my key refund the night before I left, despite the fact I was heading out for the evening. Co-inhabitants were friendly and considerate. Nice and clean, with good kitchen facilities.

Disliked: As I travel rarely I am unused to dorms with the snoring, late night entrants and squeaky floors. However, I did expect this when opting for a dorm bed and should have brought some earplugs with me.

Liked: very clean, cosy, great sized rooms, full self catering kitchen, great location (easy to get to and from), friendly staff

Disliked: breakfast was not included (however this was already described on hostel.bookers)

Liked: Location was brilliant! Not in the city centre but also not so far away, only a short walk through park which was safe and with a good lighting during the night time.

Disliked: Nothing to dislike there.

Liked: clean rooms, nice and cosy, friendly people

Disliked: A little walk from the city centre, but an enjoyable one during weekends with loads of people hanging around in the meadows

Liked: Great character about the house and rooms. Communal areas were especially nice. Facilities very good especially kitchen and showers.

Disliked: Wasn't that social and there wasn't much laid on to get people hanging out together. Staff could have got involved in running a night out or two??

Liked: Good location in a university district within walking distance (through a park) of all the major sights. There was also a fire in the fire place on evenings!

Disliked: Although not terrible, this feels like someone's home, so some things about it can be a bit cluttered--like the kitchen. The beds were also fairly squeaky--but this is a problem with most hostels.

Liked: It has a very homey kind of feel to it. The bathrooms were all clean and tidy as were the kitchens. The whole atmosphere was lovely!

Disliked: Nothing. It has been a wonderful place to stay.

Liked: A little rough around the edges but suitable for a short city break - comfortable to come back to after a long day walking around the city.

Liked: Of the four hostels we stayed in during our stay around Scotland, this is by far the BEST ! It is so clean and homely, and the facilities are top notch. They even have a living room with TV and fire place. The rooms are carpeted with such warm atmosphere and the kitchen was so clean, it is unbelievable to think that it is actually a hostel. I would highly recommend this hostel to anyone. It was such a great finale to the end of our strings of hostel staying (yes, it does get tiring after a while especially at not so good ones)

Disliked: The property was a little further from the city centre than the first hostel we stayed in, but the cleanliness and homeliness feeling would make me return to this hostel anytime !

Liked: Good location, free lockers in rooms- belongings were secure. Staff spoke several languages. Good wi-fi.

Disliked: Long lines for showers in the morning.

Liked: A fabulous hostel - basic but clean and with everything I needed. Staff were friendly and accommodating with requests from tourist queries to taxi numbers. It was nice and quiet and in a lovely location. Although not particularly central it was not too far from town and had some nice pubs, restaurants, cafes, shops and convenience stores close by . The kitchens were new, fully equipped and well-organised. There was a lovely garden and pleasant lounge area. I would definitely stay again.

Disliked: I'd advise getting a cab or bus if arriving from Waverley station - It's too far to walk with luggage in tow!

Liked: This hostel was so quaint and beautiful; it had a lovely sitting room, a nice kitchen, and really pretty back patio. The bathrooms were private and clean. It was also right beside a big and beautiful park, and was really a very short walk to the city centre. I walked back to the hostel from the city centre late at night and it was easily accomplished. The staff members I interacted with were also friendly and accommodating and polite. Overall, I completely enjoyed my stay here and would recommend it to anyone who's looking for a hostel that is perhaps a bit smaller and more quiet than the ones directly in town.

Disliked: I have no complaints.
