Liked: It was cheap. They also do a basic breakfast for a cheap price (toast with marmalade or jam; and weetabix or rice crispies with coffee, tea or orange juice).

Disliked: There was not enough toilets or showers for the numbers of people staying there. They were also mixed gender which I found really weird and they were absolutely tiny. There wasn't really enough room to put your stuff to get changed in the mornings or to rest anything on the sink. Out of the six showers in the hostel, one completely didn't work, one only came on for five seconds and then turned off, one was boiling hot followed by freezing cold and was unusable, two were cold and one worked but there was no light in it so you couldn't actually see. The reception was only open 8am-11pm which made checking out or in late or early difficult or leaving bags in storage. The kitchen was also only open those hours which I found weird and annoying as I wanted breakfast before we went on a day tour but obviously was not possible. The beds were also really creaky and cramped (that's if I'm being really picky). The location wasn't great either - was about half an hour from the middle of Princes St and a majority of the tourist sights. All in all the hostel isn't a complete disaster but if you can afford or find better I would recommend you stay elsewhere.

Liked: A big thankyou to the reception staff Nicola and Marian who were kind and helpful. Any questions asked were answered and they were happy to help with anything. A very clean, happy hostel with great value for money and close to anything you need. Also over the road from the train station which makes day trips around Scotland easy.

Disliked: Nothing.

Disliked: The common areas where a little bit messy. But thata was the guests fault, the next day it was cleaned.

Liked: Everything was great, staff was very helpful. Showers were nice as well. Location seemed pretty good.

Disliked: -No free breakfast for a pretty expensive rate. Rates were increased pretty high during the Fringe festival...but so was every other hostel in town. -The computer would refresh like every 10 mins which got a tad annoying, but overall great stay and would def go back.

Liked: Super easy to find when arriving by bus or from the airport. Staff are excellent and extremely helpful!

Liked: Nice atmosphere, friendly staff. Clean and organised.

Disliked: Bit of rude shock when one of the shower's only had cold water, but I am putting that down to a proper Hostel Experience :)

Liked: Very near to the haymarket train station, a lot of restaurant to dine in nearby (there's a halal kebab restaurant next to the hostel) just a walking distance as well as groceries stores. Car parking available at the area very close to the hostel. Facilities are very good (snooker, tv, breakfast at a reasonable price, hairdryer), kitchen are very clean. Highly recommended!

Liked: It's soooo handy for Haymarket Station and the top end of Princes Street and the facilities at the hostel are really accessible to everyone and easy to use, just the right size hostel so it never seems to busy :)

Disliked: No power socket in the room... Is autumn, cold and the heat at my room didn't work properly...

Liked: Really friendly staff who helped me with directions and bus timetables and what was good to see in the city. Also, this place is very clean which is always a plus!

Disliked: Although the bathrooms were very clean, they were really small.

Liked: The location was very handy for the train, the roadworks didn't bother me it was the noise in the morning! The staff are really friendly, it was nice for someone to help me find my way around on the bus. The price was fab as well.

Disliked: Re the roadworks, I thought for residential properties hours were between 8am-8pm. The kitchen was clean but quite small, also it's not really obvious where you can eat the food after you've cooked it.

Liked: The location mainly, right across the road from Haymarket Station (the roadworks didnt help but thankfully were not noisy at all). Cheap but cheerful & clean, very basic but the free wi-fi makes up for it.

Disliked: Simply, the fact you have to pay for towels seperatly, not the be all and end all but I think it should be complimentary with the price of the room. Also could possibly have plugs in the rooms aswell, so travellers can sleep/shower while their phones are charging without the worry of their tech getting stolen.

Liked: Very nice price! Staff were very friendly and helpful, and an absolutely brilliant location - literally outside Haymarket Station. Ideal!

Disliked: Rooms were very cramped, well in fairness it was the 16 bed room I was in - no room to move whatsoever. A claustrophobic's worst nightmare! Would be better if they removed a bunk or two and put in lockers instead. I'd pay more for that.
