Liked: Very close to the Edinburgh Castle and about 2 min walk to bus station direction airport, nice stuff, nice atmosphere.

Disliked: No sockets in rooms, toilets and showers placed together, but not many place to take a shower.

Liked: It's location is very good. Very easy to reach from the airport and you canr each all the main sights and places of interest of Edinburgh by foot if you don't mind walking a bit.The hostel seems to be newly renovated, so all the furniture and kitchen equipment is in good shape.

Disliked: When we got into our dorm, the mattresses and duvets were already covert with sheets. We only got fresh pillow cases and some sort of cotton-sheet/sleeping bag. We are pretty sure they were not clean as we found hairs in our bed. Also the bathroom was pretty disgusting. The window cannot be opened and as a result there is mould everywhere, one day there were proper mushrooms in the shower! Juck! The showers are either freezing cold or boiling hot.

Liked: The Hostel is cheap and friendly people around, the location is very good.

Disliked: the bedrooms smells very bad, and bed is not change often, even for guest that just arrived.

Liked: In a converted flat, so very homey atmosphere. Everyone alse seems to be fairly social and there is a nice lounge room. Really inexpensive.

Disliked: Beds are EXTREMELY close together (ie if someone was taller than 6"2, their feet might hang over the end of their bed and possibly be on yours. Also, there are no power outlets in any of the rooms. Not a HUGE deal but it would be nice to have them.

Liked: This was a nice hostel to stay in, although it seems a little out of the way. It's about a 10-15 minute walk from Waverly Station, but right across the street from Haymarket. The rooms were clean, the bathrooms not so much. I would stay here again. Breakfast for 1 pound is a great bonus.

Disliked: The bathrooms were a bit on the dirty side.

Liked: It wasn't far from the city center and it was cheap.

Disliked: It wasn't very clean; the bathroom was grimy and the rooms never seemed to be cleaned properly.

Liked: Clean, easy, friendly, comfortable, cheap and in a very good location.

Disliked: TV was too near the rooms and was too loud, which stopped me from getting to sleep!

Liked: The hostel had potential to be very good if not for several extreme annoyances. The beds were fine, and some of the staff were nice as well. The kitchen is good, expect it's closed half of the time, and during the most useful times.

Disliked: Kitchen and common room are only open half the day. Not being able to access the kitchen adds to your food expenses, which negates any money you save by booking here. It's also a little out of the way, so factor that in as well. The showers have terrible water pressure, are oddly positioned (which makes getting clean an obstacle) , and the weird electric devices are a nuisance. In fact the hostel has many annoying safety features that are sure to get on your nerves. It's all very frustrating as the place could be a good hostel.

Liked: Everything was perfect, clean and tidy rooms, good kitchen and lounge area, and loads of help booking my tour and return transport, staff were really helpful.

Liked: The kitchens house brand new stainless steel electronics, bloody fantastic.

Disliked: Showers were a little unrealiable but there were plenty for everyone and queuing was not necessary.

Liked: it was dirt cheap, fun, and i met some great people. only about a 15 minute walk to all the major attractions and a 30 second walk from the train station. it seemed like a safe area, i wasn't scared to walk around at night. all in all, the best hostel stay of my trip through the uk.

Disliked: the bathrooms were pretty smelly, and there wasn't a lot of room in the dorms for stuff.

Liked: New Hostel, good kitchen facilities, nice main room and also places to sit down behind the house. Good and cheap laundry service

Disliked: No breakfast included, a bit far away from the city center (But in front of Haymarket station as advertised), lockers only available at the reception which means that you cannot access to your things when the reception is closed.
