Liked: It was easy to find and the staff were friendly

Disliked: the sinks were very small, and the shower overflowed onto the bathroom floor

Liked: There were two staff members in particular that made this a good experience for me. Sadly I don't remember there names, but the guy who checked me in did me a huge favour my washing my only pair of jeans that had lost a battle with a bottle of diet coke. He even tracked me down a few hours later to ask if it was okay to put them in the dryer as he had just hung them after washing since he wasn't sure. I was incredibly impressed. Other than that, it's a decent hostel for the price.

Disliked: It's a bit of a hike from city center (15 minute walk or so to the Royal Mile). However, as long as it's not raining, walking around Edinburgh is quite beautiful so that's not to bad.

Liked: Quite unable to say, see comments above!

Disliked: The Manager, quite a disagreeable individual. Described her role as a 'Manager' not 'a childminder' to my 16 (nearly 17) year old son. He is quite independant and above all else - trustworthy, smart and polite. Tarring him with some other experience she might have had with other 16 year old's is totally unfair and discriminatory in itself.

Liked: I didn't know that it was owned by the same people as the West End Hotel right around the corner before I booked it. I'm so glad! Both are fabulous hostels! It was so clean and the staff was incredibly helpful - helping me haul my luggage up the stairs - a few times. It's a bit of a hike from downtown Edinburgh, but right next to Haymarket Train Station and directly on the Airlink Bus line to the airport. Perfect!

Disliked: Nothing.

Liked: Staff was so nice and helpful. The 20 minutes of free internet was totally a lifesaver.

Disliked: We had to pay 2 pounds for breakfast - and there was nothing special about it!

Liked: It was cheap, clean, and had a very helpful staff.

Disliked: My slippers got stolen from my room. I do not appreciate that at all. The security should be more.

Liked: Cheap price, nice staff, bedding and internet included.

Disliked: Kind of out of the way from alot of the touristy sights but near haymarket station, no lockers, bathroom shared by male and female and only 2 showers and 2 toilets, one of which had no lock.

Disliked: Said under 16s need to come with an adult . I am 17 and got told I would need an adult. we chose this hostel specifically because of that.

Liked: i can say that was very friendly , clean and close to everything, the people who work there defenely very nice and helpfull

Disliked: no much space for using laptop or eating. the plug is limited~ only in lobby can charge your laptop or camera. no plug in the sleeping Room~

Liked: Everything. It really was a the best hostel I have every stayed in. And soooooo friendly. The staff could not have been better. I actually stayed an extra two days instead of going to Glasgow because it was so nice.
