Liked: I really enjoyed the atmosphere of the hostel, and the staff was more than helpful and really friendly. The kitchen was well equipped for fixing your own dinners, there's free internet, the lounge room was cozy enough to spend time with other residents and the whole place was cleaned daily. Well worth the money.

Disliked: The showers didn't really work the way I expected them to; the water temperature would change by itself from hot to ice cold in seconds, and you would have to press a start-button the whole time to keep the water running. Then a few minor things; very creaky beds and no power outlets in the bedrooms.

Liked: Good price and convenient to West End bus stop

Disliked: I was sair felt at being told I'd have to wait 10 minutes for toilet paper.

Liked: The Hostel was more than I expected. It was my first stay at a hostel and I wouldn't hesitate to stay at a hostel again. The staff was really nice and helpfull, good kitchen and really nice rooms. The kitchen, toilets and the rooms were really clean and The Hostel was located so you could walk to the city center of Edinburgh and bus stops and trainstation was located just outside The Hostel.

Disliked: I don't have anything to complain about, a relly good first experience of a hostel for both me and my friend.

Liked: Had what you needed, modern, friendly staff

Disliked: Bit noisy due to roadworks outside from around 7am - not the hostel's fault though obviously!

Liked: Very welcoming staff and guests. Settled in after the first night and was out with everybody on the 3rd. Location 10mins walk from everything bus to Glasgow just outside. Just had the best time and will be back.

Disliked: Squeeky beds, ear plugs needed. No lockers or plugs in the rooms.

Disliked: Some of the beds are broken. And while security is good, the staff watches you like a hawk as if they expect you to misbehave anytime...

Liked: Nice and friendly welcome, location, had free lockers, rear terrace

Disliked: THE dorms itself smelled bad after 10 young people slept all together, without proper ventilation.

Liked: Free Wireless internet. The hostel was quiet - no people sitting around partying late in the night

Disliked: When most of the beds are full, the place feels cramped, not a lot of personal space.

Liked: I liked that it was so close to the station - just across the road from Haymarket. Also the onelink 100 bus to the airport left from across the road so that was good too. There was a free luggage store and hairdryer which was helpful.

Disliked: The room we had was really small. There were two bunks one of which was a double and a single. The room was scarcely bigger than the beds so it was fortunate that we were all friends. The same quilt cover was used for different people. The sheets included one of those sleep in sheets that have been abandoned by many hostels. My biggest problem was the washing facilites. Our shared bathroom comprised of three tiny shower rooms and three small toilet cubicles so if you wanted just a wash you had to wash in a tiny toilet cubicle. There were two other sinks in the area in between the showers and toilets but as the toilets were unisex this made having a proper wash there impossible. There was only one sanitary disposal unit and there was never any soap and often no toilet paper either. Finally when someone came to empty the bin in our room he just let himself in with a key - fortunately we had just finished dressing and were decent.

Liked: The Hostel was really easy to find. The Staff were really friendly and helpful. The Lounge has a pool table so it was quite easy to socialise. Breakfast was cheap (2 pounds) Bathrooms were nice. all the rooms were really modern. about a 10minute walk the royal mile.

Disliked: Rooms were a bit small and they didnt have power points... there were plenty in the lounge though...

Liked: Easy to find and right near the Airport bus, had a kitchen and common room etc

Disliked: Room was too small for the number of beds, not sure if the duvet covers got washed, bathroom wasn't that clean, a lot of steps to climb up with a big bag

Liked: Friendly staff. Free lockers for small valuables. Close to bus stop

Disliked: Very cramped rooms. Horrible pillows and broken mattresses. No luggage storage area- bags had to be left on floors in limited space between beds.

Liked: It didn't have noisy bars outside so I could sleep well. The location is a bit further away but you can still walk pretty easily to and fro the centre. Also, the building is pretty.

Disliked: The room size was quite big (16 beds) although that didn't actually bother me too much. In the showers you couldn't put your clothes anywhere dry and there were too few toilets (especially when one of them didn't have a functioning lock.

Liked: I liked the location. It is very close to the train station and buses are easy without being right in the thick of the main centre - which during the festival time is INSANE. I also liked the free luggage storage - although I have almost come to expect that.

Disliked: Upon arrival I was told little about the facilities available. My room was 16 beds which is very awkard at the best of times. None of the usual perks like lamps or power points were available. There was only one bathroom on my floor and it was for boys and girls. It had only 3 showers and 2 toilets. One toilet didn't have a lock. One girl was walked in on by the worker who didn't properly knock. To get to the bathroom you had to walk past the common room which was crowded adn full of young guys - so there was no privacy to do make up. The internet while free wrireless was available - I couldn't connect to it with my laptop for some reason - not sure why not. The other guys staying there put toilet paper all over the bathroom too. There was another room of people using that bathroom too. Apparently there were more upstairs but I hadn;t been told about this until I was checking out. Overall - it felt crowded and inconvenient with no privacy. The common room was very small.

Liked: Fairly close to the centre, friendly helpful staff, great kitchen facilities, enough bathroom facilities to prevent queues

Disliked: Showers sometimes had hair in the plugs but not a very big deal, beds a little creaky
