Globetrotters is a laid back, friendly, fun, clean, comfortable, modern and secure hostel with clued-up staff a fantastic bar and facilities that are second to none.

The Globetrotter Inn is a 4* hostel, we are the perfect base for groups and individuals alike! We accept Stag, Hen, School Groups, Sports Groups, families and individuals.

Globetrotters is a laid back, friendly, fun, clean, comfortable, modern and secure hostel with a fantastic bar and facilities that are second to none.

Our custom designed beds are the most comfortable in Edinburgh and allow for great levels of privacy and comfortable nights sleep. With your own spring mattress, reading light, privacy curtain and shelf you'll find yourself relating to your very own bed back home.

With 366 beds there's something for everyone.

Guests booking in bunk rooms should bring their own towels - alternatively we have towels on sale in the on-site shop at the price of £5.00

To make things even better everyone in a dorm room gets their own backpack sized locker, a big bunk with a privacy curtain and a personal reading light! Talk about comfortable!

We understand that just because you're traveling on a budget - comfort and security is not something that should be neglected.

The Inn is on the south side of the Firth of Forth with sensational views. It's roughly 15 minutes' drive from Edinburgh's Waverley train station and 15 minutes' drive from Edinburgh International Airport:

We run our very own shuttle bus which leaves from Waterloo Place. stand C leaving on the hour from 7am to 11pm.
Price for our shuttle bus is £1.50 single, £2.50 return, £4.00 day pass and £10.00 for weekly pass.


Cancellations must be received 24-hours prior to 2pm of your arrival date. Failure to do so will result in the cost of your first night's accommodation being charged to the card used to make your booking.

Check-in time is from 2pm. Check out time is 10am.

Any guest under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult (over 18) and must not be in shared rooms. If you would like a female only dorm please contact us directly after booking to make this request.

Any families who have small children must book the complete room as we can not put strangers in the same room.



Upon arrival we will require photo identification, ie. passport, drivers license, student card etc. Please note if you do not have any of the above then we will have to refuse you entry.

Note: We do not accept American Express, Diners or Laser cards.

We are hosting a 3 day New Year Package which starts on 30th December x 3 nights.
If you book only 1 night this will automatically be cancelled (must be 3 nights from 30th December)

The package includes the following:

3 nights accommodation with complimentary continental breakfast
Street Party Ticket to the Famous Hogmanay Party
Transport to and from the Street Party (7 different times going in and out of the town)
Live Band
Karaoke

With all bookings Hostelbookers will deduct 10% deposit, once the hostel has received your booking we will take a further 40% deposit to guarantee your booking, then the remainder of the balance will be due on 30th November (1 month before arrival). If you book after 30th November, the hostel will require full payment when we receive the booking. Please note that all deposits are non refundable.

Location Information

We run a shuttle bus that leaves from Waterloo Place, stand C. This bus leaves from 7am to 12 noon on the hour, then 5pm to 11pm on the hour. We have been finding that from 1pm until 5pm there was no one using the shuttle. If you turn up at the bus stop at 1, 2, 3 or 4pm please call us on +44 (0) 131 336 1030 and we will send our driver out to get you.

The price for our shuttle is £1.50 single, £2.50 return, £4.00 day ticket and £10.00 for a weekly ticket. Please buy your tickets at our reception desk and advise our reception team which time you wish to book. This will avoid any unnecessary disappointments.
