Liked: It was less than a 10 minute walk to all of the major Edinburgh attractions. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. I chose to stay in a private room, which was pretty nice - wardrobe, decent bed, and desk. My one complaint about the room was that it was FREEZING. I understand it's kind of ridiculous to have to turn the heat on in June, but still. It really isn't a good place to meet people, but Edinburgh itself is very friendly and open, so you have to depend less on the hostel for that than you would in other cities. The shower sucked (VERY hot and powerful), but the bathrooms in general were very clean. Each "apartment" has about 5 rooms that share 2 toilets, one shower, and a kitchen. I would think of this more as a 'budget hotel' than a hostel - I saw many older people coming and going while I was there. All in all, good value for the money, and my few complaints are nothing that would stop me from staying there again.

Liked: room was ok, but kitchen was very badly equipt, just some plates, cups, pots and cutlery. No toaster, servings spoons,sieve , chopping board.etcNot easy to cook for yourself. Also longe did not have tv or radio. Not many bathrooms per apartment. There was a fire alarm, but no safety regulations that all the people were checked if they were out of the building. Considering that it was during the Fringe, we were glad to have some where to stay. In a normal situation I would not have accepted the price.

Liked: Greatly located hostel with very helpful and nice staff. But it would definitely need a GOOD CLEANING, new showers and more facilities in the kitchens!

Liked: rent a single lockable room in a flat: this was top of cleanliness! kitchen and bathroom were perfectly working, providing warm water at any time.miss charm and atmosphere of an hotel though. a few more signs in cowgate street would help to find the place!

Liked: Location is perfect. Staff are very polite and helpful, its no trouble to leave your bags early or late or for them to order you a taxi, great customers service. A mirror in the room would be helpful but otherwise a great cheap place to stay.

Liked: The room and bathroom facilities are fine but basic, the kitchen facilities are great. However being on a main street with pub nearby mean't very noisy nights with little sleep. Good location, close to Royal Mile and Castle.

Liked: Near to the center, excellent bedroom, very calm and good also for who have to sleep and wake up early in the morning (just take into account precautions for noise coming from the street).

Liked: If you are looking for a great location in the summer with a more personal/independent feel, then the Euro Hostel is perfect. Given it being University of Edinburgh flats it is good for a more independent traveler. But at the same time the staff is great and there 24/7.

Liked: Great location, right by the night clubs and city centre. Recommendation, use blaire street to go from the hostel to the royal mile. it's not as steep as a hill as fishmarket and other streets that lead up to it. It's very close to the center, and be prepared for a very beautiful hilly city!! Bring less!!!

Liked: Centrally located, no curfew, would especially recommend booking out the the self contained 5 sleeping rooms.Has 3 rooms with 2 twins and a single plus your own kitchen area, 2 toilets and a shower. All exclusively for your parties use.Cant ask for anymore for £25 a night!!

Liked: This is the best hostel I've stayed in, as it's actually uni halls. The rooms are a good size. Bed is really comfortable. Fantastic location, good bathroom.
