Liked: i really liked the syle and design ...all the walls were with draings and colourful. it is really clean and the stuff is really helpful and you can have a nice chat with them. the hostel though is located on the 5th floor so you have to go up all the stairs but that not a problem at all just wanted to mention it. the building is old but warm and in a very good condition.

Disliked: well our room was a little bit smelly but i think the problem for that is the number of the people we were in there ... 4 boys 4 girls. ....thats all

Liked: It was close to the city, without the city noise. Staff was friendly. The kitchen area was comfortable as were the rooms. Bathrooms very clean.

Disliked: Had to climb many stairs to get to hostel (however it was not that big of a problem)

Liked: Great common room. Dude who works there told us to go to an awsome castle outside the city, a great recomendation. fancy walls and big kitchen.

Disliked: perhaps more showers per level

Liked: Very interesting atmosphere.It was fun and a kind of experience.

Disliked: It smelt sweaty inside the room. The club next to hostel was noisy during the night.

Liked: Close to the city centre.

Disliked: It was up 3 very steep flights of stairs! the reception was tiny, I could hardly fit in with my bags and some of the rooms were up even more stairs! The street outside was very noisy until about 1 am and I had a very early flight so didnt get much sleep. There were also some very noisy guests in my room as the hostel does not seem to have a quiet policy. I didnt use the kitchen but it didnt look great, very small and cramped.

Liked: open door of room without harassing need to take out key whenever leaving room. Kitchen facilityOne thing that needs improvement is the circuitous route to reach rooms. ALso, free Wi-fi will be welcome

Liked: I love the laid-back atmosphere and decor of Princes Street East Backpackers. I was particularly impressed by the cleanliness of the bathrooms, which are way more sanitary than those at my university. But I have to say the best part about this hostel is its location--less than 5 minutes from the train station and a short walk to the main drag. I would definitely recommend this hostel to friends, family or anyone going to Edinburgh!

Liked: Its location and the friendliness of the staff and visitors.I was not aware of Hostelbookers being promoted at the hostel but this does not mean that it was not.

Liked: Staff was really okay, and location just couldn't be better. The only thing - the beds were just dirty, I was really happy I had my own blanket that I slept underneath. Also, it was a bit too loud - I didn't mind but my friend did. But it was so cheap and in such a good place that I think it was really worth it.
